Well, woah. I just read those seven pages in one sitting...now THIS is a bloody good topic!!! I had things to say but i keep forgetting them with other things to say, so it's all very confusing at this time of night for me Thanks for the essay, and the poem and the snippets of info guys....it is wonderful to know the true Mab. I think Merlin is not a classically 'good' film but i damn well enjoy it and find it an entertaining romp. I think it would be wonderful if they made not 'Merlin's Apprentice' but a spin off to do with Mab, the real Mab. After all, if she is not in MA, it will crash and burn. She was the only reason the film was above average in my opinion. Hope you're feeliong better soon my Kem babe xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Cool I definitely see where you're coming from with the whole ending of magic thing by the way, I'd never thought of that. But I still love him. Much as I love Mab, she was being a bit naughty, what with the killings of various people...(or 'letting them die') and then she goes and tries to kill him with her arrow nail thingys, so it's kind of self defense.... Anyway, we all know she's not really dead, so it doesn't matter xxxxxxxxxx

So it's just the character? Not the acting of Sam Neill? Or you hate Sam Neill too?

And please not Merlin - I'd pair Mab with Sir Rupert before I paired her with him. *timidly* Erm...I would love a Merlin/Mab pairing...i think that would be really sexy actually. I just love Sam Neill...I think he's hot... *hides* xxxxxxx

My fav bit is just one line 'Lala' when shes sitting in her study and Lala is explaining why Johnny was out. One line can say so much. I so agree GQ. All this talk has made me need to see it again. xxxx

That's probably one of my favourite scenes too. I love the contrast between her and Lalla. Miranda's face breaks my heart, it's showing the the same emotion inwardly as Lalla is outwardly showing. I find that devastating. I guess cos I'm a very outwardly emotional person I can't understand or get my head around that. I think Queen Mary must have been a very brave and very courageous lady if she was anything at all like she was portrayed in The Lost Prince.
Love all those scenes you mention Morgause. Also love the hospital scene where she visits the soldiers and then afterwards when the cleaner guy starts verbally attacking her. The way she reacts is so...truthful...
And when she first sees Johnny fitting and that single tear falls down her cheek...and the look on her face...God, it's just too much to bear. A sign of an amazing actress surely. That you CANNOT BEAR the pain that she is going through. It feels like literal pain in your heart to watch her in that scene.
Also her lovely little touch where she is given the papers with the 'reviews' of her behaviour when faced with a sufferagete (sp?)...that sweet little modest and slightly self- mocking smile... Beautiful, man!! I am so in awe of these little things she does that just make a character REAL.
Oh I've gone on again, haven't I?!!!

Morgause, I completely agree...it's definitely one of my fave Miranda performances. Such restrained emotion, you want to shake her and tell her that it's ok to let it out It's films like this that make me think...how is she Queen Mab?? How is she Stella? It CAN'T be the same person!! xxxx
