Morgause, I completely agree...it's definitely one of my fave Miranda performances. Such restrained emotion, you want to shake her and tell her that it's ok to let it out It's films like this that make me think...how is she Queen Mab?? How is she Stella? It CAN'T be the same person!! xxxx

Ohh thanks!! Yesterday when I posted it I couldn't find the right words in english to describe Queen Mary but you made it for me, QueenOfDance! It's restrained emotion!! And yes, after I saw The Lost Prince I also thought how she can be so different characters?? Definitely, she is my inspiration as an actress!

Fave means favourite, isn't it? Well, my fabourites scenes are: when the docters say to Queen Mary that Johnny is not like the other children, when Lalla stops the Queen of leaving John's grammophone away, the hospital scene and the next one when Queen Mary says "I'm british from tip to toe, from toe to tip" and the scene after Johnny's dead, when Queen Mary and Lalla are talking in the kitchen.

I love Lost Prince. I think it's my favourite Miranda film. I love the scene after Johnny dies. Miranda's performance is so powerful. I was in tears by the end.

That's probably one of my favourite scenes too. I love the contrast between her and Lalla. Miranda's face breaks my heart, it's showing the the same emotion inwardly as Lalla is outwardly showing. I find that devastating. I guess cos I'm a very outwardly emotional person I can't understand or get my head around that. I think Queen Mary must have been a very brave and very courageous lady if she was anything at all like she was portrayed in The Lost Prince.
Love all those scenes you mention Morgause. Also love the hospital scene where she visits the soldiers and then afterwards when the cleaner guy starts verbally attacking her. The way she reacts is so...truthful...
And when she first sees Johnny fitting and that single tear falls down her cheek...and the look on her face...God, it's just too much to bear. A sign of an amazing actress surely. That you CANNOT BEAR the pain that she is going through. It feels like literal pain in your heart to watch her in that scene.
Also her lovely little touch where she is given the papers with the 'reviews' of her behaviour when faced with a sufferagete (sp?)...that sweet little modest and slightly self- mocking smile... Beautiful, man!! I am so in awe of these little things she does that just make a character REAL.
Oh I've gone on again, haven't I?!!!

I also love the bit that Miranda is in a room alone and she says to herself "I am English from top to toe" or words to that effect. I've only seen it once at the beginning of the year so I can't remember the exact quote.
Has Lost Prince ever been released on DVD? I stupidly forgot to record it when it was on and it's unlikely it'll be on TV again for ages.

Yeah, it was repeated on New Year's day and the day after, that's when I saw it. I'll keep a look out for the DVD, but I'm not getting my hopes up about finding it. Oh, well, God bless Amazon.

After a big indetermination, I think that Queen Mary is my favourite Miranda's performance! It was very difficult to me make a decision...
(Ah post no. 100! I'm going to a new stage! One day I will be an Empress too!)

*many claps* I found that once I reached 100, it actually took me less time to reach Empress status than it had to get to the 100 mark- you should be elevated in no time!
Back on topic, I love the Lost Prince. It's not my favourite Miranda film (Merlin will probably never be topped), but it is still wonderful, and the cast were all good, which helps. Even with Miranda in it, bad cast members can harm a film (MA for instance)

Yes, Merlin is absolutely fascinating, no doubts about it! I love Merlin and Mab will always be my favourite villain! But I think that Queen Mary is such a complex character (Mab is complex too, but in a different way) and I simply can't imagine any other actress playing it so well as Miranda, because that role oscillates between so much controversial feelings that could be a trap for the actress. But Miranda understood it and played a restrained women who show feelings at the same time, but never in an explicit way, which stuns me!

My fav bit is just one line 'Lala' when shes sitting in her study and Lala is explaining why Johnny was out. One line can say so much.
