Has anyone heard anything about this? Talking To Strangers is a retrospective exhibition of work by the French artist Sophie Calle, currently showing at the Whitechapel Art Gallery. Walking through this beautifully presented installation, a combination of video, photography and text, we encounter the responses of everyone from a 9 year-old girl (‘It is sad’) to a criminologist (he says ‘I’ more than 30 times in a letter with 23 sentences’). Actors Jeanne Moreau and Miranda Richardson read the text aloud in French and English respectively; others interpret it through dance, music, puppetry and even chess... I've concluded that people are both ridiculous and really really REALLY not worth my time. Because they are ridiculous. Agreed

I really like this one, it is my favourite among all of your posts! The horse and pose of Lady Van Tassel looks so much like the picture!

I know!! Its kind of special that not everyone knows who she is. I was actually going through her imdb list today and my friend was shocked because she didn't realise she had seen Miranda in a few things, her characters being so different from each other and all.

Miranda doesn't do a ton of movies because thats not what she wants. She doesn't care about being in a huge number of movies and becoming extremely well known. She picks roles and films that have a deep meaning to her, and she wants to be able to spend time going to these charity events because they mean a lot to her. She also wants to be able to spend time helping animals all over the world and spending time with her pets. As well people who work all the time can't keep relationships as easily and to me friends and family seem very important to her.
Also Miranda isn't frustrated with Meryl Streep, I think she might have been joking when she said Meryl Streep gets all of the roles, and she did say that "Meryl is really amazing and she has done some interesting stuff." In an interview last March at the Young Victoria premiere. I don't think she is comparing herself to Meryl or anyone else, she wants to be her own person.
