All right, I’ve finished “Fingersmith” and it was just… perfect. Brilliant plot, endearing characters that I really cared for, wonderful writing. I don’t remember enjoying a book this much, nor feeling so satisfied after finishing it. I loved it. I’ve also finished “Tipping the Velvet,” by the same author, and this was another book I truly enjoyed (I suppose the few days it took me to read it might be a fair indication of just how entertaining and enthralling it was). I won’t give out any spoilers, but say that it is a really good book. On to “The Little Stranger,” now! EDIT: And I’ve finished it… Um, not my type of book, I’m afraid. The writing was great, I got the gist… (I think! In all fairness, it’s a pretty ambiguous story, which is a good thing). But I’d long lost all sympathy for the characters after a particular incident close to the beginning of the book (I don’t want to give out any spoilers, but whoever’s read it knows what I’m referring to), so I pretty much just wished them all dead. ^^; Some bit the dust, but… yeah, there we go. I think it’s worth a read, though, because it was fairly entertaining, just… not my cup of tea, I suppose.

Sarah Waters is such a wonderful writer! She’s becoming my favourite writer, actually (second only to Anne Rice). I’ve recently read “Affinity” by her, which was a very beautifully written book (but I’d already been spoiled, having watched the movie based on it, so I knew the story already). I’m currently reading “Fingersmith” and it’s such a good book! I find it excruciatingly hard to put it down, and I can’t remember the last time that happened! So I definitely recommend it. And I’ll make sure to read “The Little Stranger” as well – do let us know how you liked it, Annette Claus! The other book I’m currently reading is Anne Rice’s “Taltos” (the third and last book in the Mayfair Witches series). The writing style’s a delight, and the characters are beautifully fleshed out – I’d definitely recommend the entire series.

Thank you for the new pictures! Much appreciated. <3 She looks so lovely.
(Although, as far as the movie goes, it's one I'm not likely to ever watch. I might share her love for animals, but definitely wouldn't have the necessary stamina to sit through it without falling apart in a very embarrassing way!)
