I first saw Miranda in Blackadder and Ab Fab.
I remember watching Back and Forth and thinking whos that pretty one I dont remember her in Blackadder then the cerdits ran and it said Miranda.
Then was Sleepy Hallow- I love the whole scary killer thing so got me more interested in her- then I saw her at abfab and was like WOW! shes hot I need more of that! hehe

Hahah is it worrying that we all came to her because she is a scary killer/witch type person?!! Perhaps it because she portrays strong women...and some just happen to chop heads off

That's an interesting question because I'm not really sure, and I'm rather irritated by that. Techinically, Sleepy Hollow. I'd seen that many, many times before I actually took interest in who Miranda was. I remember there was a film I saw and that prompted me to want to see more of her work, but I don't remember WHAT. I think it might have been The Hours, but I'm not sure, and I'm maddened by that. After that, I went to the video store and hired every single thing with her in it that they had. Because I wanted to see more of her. What really pushed me over the edge in fangirlyness, though, was, yes, Rita. Rita = the sex, and therefore Angela = big, big fangirl. And that is my story

Mine was "Merlin". I was 9 years old, it was Easter weekend, and my Mum and Dad sat me down to watch the first part of this TV miniseries that they'd heard was supposed to be good. I wanted to watch the Lion King, but they wanted to watch Merlin, so I sat down with them. Then Mab came on the screen, and I was hooked. It took me till about halfway through the first episode to realise that she was meant to be the bad guy, though- I'd come from the land of Disney films, where the bad guys didn't have good motives- and I seriously wanted her to win. I remember the series was shown over 2 evenings, and so I spent the whole of Easter Monday just waiting for Part 2. We were at my Nan's that afternoon, and I believe I had a conversation with my Mum that went like this:
Me: We have to be back in time for Merlin! Mum:We will be Me: But what if we don't leave in time? Mum: We will. Me: But what if the car breaks down on the way back?! Mum: It's not on until 7. We could walk. Me: But what if we don't arrive back in time if we have to walk?! Mum: Emma! We're half an hour's walk from home! Me: So? Mum: IT'S TWO IN THE AFTERNOON! WE HAVE 5 HOURS!!!!!!!!
I think my parents regretted showing Merlin to me when I quickly became obsessed... After that, I think I saw stuff like Blackadder, Sleepy Hollow and Chicken Run without realising Miranda was in them until I saw her name in the credits! Seriously, she always looked so different, and I was young. Alas!

I think my first was Phantom. All the way home the only thing I talked about was how good she was. I went back the week later with my mum and did exactly the same thing. I didn't realise at the time that Madame Giry and Queenie from Blackadder were played by the same actress.

I think that's so amazing, that we can watch these films without realising it's the same person. She has such an amazing ability to transform herself completely for a role. Earlier this year, when she was on the cover of Radio Times, I was hanging around with Helene from my media class, and I ducked into the newsagent to buy two copies of the magazine. She was like wtf, and I went, well, once for me, and one for another obsessed fangirl from Australia that I know over the net (Nessa . She didn't know who Miranda was, so I started rolling off film names from the top of my head, none of which she had seen. Then: "Blackadder. You've seen Blackadder, right?" Helene: "Yes, of course." Me: "Queenie! She's Queenie!" Helene: *grabs magazine* "What, her?!" I love it

I had to dash into a newsagent too without my mum finding out (we never get the Radio Times so she would wonder why I had it!)
The first thing I saw her in was in Blackadder which when I was very young (like 6) which I used to occasionaly watch with my dad (he loves BA too!) Then my uncle showed me the video of Chicken Run, but I never knew about Miranda untill I got OBSESSED by Blackadder three years ago after watching it in a history lesson. Then I found out who played Queenie and that she had been in all these things and then became obsessed!! But I never knew that she was Mrs Tweedy untill my uncle told me and at first I didn't believe him!!

I know! When I first watched Blackadder, I was sitting there, looking for someone who looked like Mab, then my grandparents pointed to Queenie and said that was her, and I was absolutely gobsmacked as to how different she looked!
I also purchased that Radio Times- me and my friend Liam were walking up the street alongside WH Smith's, and I glanced in through the door and saw the Miranda cover, and I sort of ran inside squealing incoherently and grabbed one. Liam came in to see what the fuss was about, saw the Miranda cover (he knows well of my obsession) rolled his eyes and went "Oh for fuck's sake!". I then spent the rest of my lunchbreak reading it, and drooling over pretty Miranda pictures. ;D
