Many thankees, Kathleen! I found a good quality and very recent Slaying the Dreamer, and a full Sleeping Sun from the same show, so I've put the links to both of those in the other post. BTW, someone mentioned on the Tarja thread something about the time until the next NW album is due out, so I thought I might as well post in here- I've heard a few times now that the studio is booked for early 2010, after they've finished touring for DPP. So, LOL, it will be some time before we see their next stuff, alas

This person put all the videos from wacken up. I'm assuming it's in order too, well, reverse order. www.youtube.com/user/h3nrymIt sounded kind of messy at times to me, and Jukka seems to have grown a mustache now too. He looks like a serial killer lol.

Oooooh, nice to see Sacrament of Wilderness and Wishmaster back on the setlist! Hope they perform them at Bloodstock. The live performances seem to have come on leaps and bounds compared to the beginning of the tour. As for the order of the Wacken setlist, I doubt it really matters, but if it's anything like their other setlists, then it was probably something like: Bye Bye Beautiful Dark Chest of Wonders Whoever Brings the Night The Siren Amaranth (?) Poet and the Pendulum (?) While Your Lips Are Still Red (?) Ever Dream (?) Sacrament of Wilderness (?) Sahara (?) Nemo (?) Wishmaster Wish I Had An Angel Admittedly, a lot of question marks, LOL, but there we go Also, Tuomas answered Nightmail this month (a thing on the official website, every month a bandmember/crew gets to answer questions from fans) and I thought some of the answers he gave were somewhat amusing, as well as a couple of interesting ones, so I thought I would link: www.nightwish.com/en/community/nightmail?month=07&year=2008

Sorry for the double post, but I just got back from Bloodstock Open Air (at which Nightwish were one of the headliners) yesterday, and I feel an urgent need to come here and squee madly about it because it was fucking great.
*squees madly*
Ahem, and in a more coherent fashion, Nightwish were fantabulous. Tall bastards were stood in front of me, so I had a little trouble seeing Jukka, and Emppu, bless him, but I saw him when he ran up to Tuomas and Marco's end of the stage (speaking of Tuomas, I noticed that he has a rather psychotic smile- like "I'm going to carve off your face and enjoy every second of it" ;D type thing). Anette and Marco both sang very well- Anette seems to have a lot more power in her voice live than the album suggested, and she's definitely improved a lot from earlier performances, she sang all the songs very well. She had a lot of energy, too, she was a lot of fun to watch. There were a tonne of pyrotechnics, which made my inner pyromaniac very happy indeed. The only downside was, one of the earlier bands overran, so Nightwish had to shorten their set by a couple of songs (I heard on the Nightwish forum that according to the setlist, they cut "Sahara" and "While Your Lips Are Still Red", so I guess it could have been worse). Apparently some prat threw a water balloon at Tuomas, and someone shone a laser pen in Marco's eyes, but the part of the audience I was in seemed to like them.
Here's the setlist they actually played:
Bye Bye Beautiful Dark Chest of Wonders (SQUEE at teh explodey pyro goodies) The Siren Dead to the World Amaranth Whoever Brings the Night Poet and the Pendulum Wishmaster Nemo 7 Days to the Wolves Wish I Had An Angel
Seriously thinking of going down to London to see them in March, now, if I can get away from uni. An excellent show, that is going to take something for anyone to surpass.
As for the other bands, they tended to vary in quality. Praying Mantis and Cloudscape were pretty good (also, on a random note, apparently Cloudscape are from the same place as Anette, and she actually did a song with them back before she joined Nightwish- see, I can keep on topic, me). Helloween were very, very good, too. Alestorm and Eluveitie were both fucking amazing. I wrote down the setlists for them, too, though I'm afraid I can't remember the last song that Eluveitie played.
Eluveitie: Inis Mona Grey Sublime Archon Bloodstained Ground Of Fire, Wind and Wisdom The Somber Lay Your Gaulish War ?- I remember it had a Celtic name, but I can't recall which one it was
Alestorm: Over the Seas The Huntmaster Death Before the Mast Nancy the Tavern Wench Set Sail And Conquer (This song is all about killing as many ninjas as possible...) Terror on the High Seas Wenches and Mead Captain Morgan's Revenge

So jealous. So Anette wasn't shrieky? I still don't think I would enjoy it. Now did the water balloon actually hit Tuomas, or did he dodge the missile?

Judging from conversations overheard on the bus back to the train station, it was in fact At The Gates that went over, by around five songs.
Anette was good throughout, although she didn't seem too comfortable with the pitch shift towards the end of Dead To The World. Kind of like a "curse you higher notes, come down here where I can reach you!" thing.
I didn't see anything thrown at Tuomas. Although I may have been distracted by his daft hat. I did notice him hurting his hand though (complete with frantic hand-shaking, and leaping down to his water bottle to soothe his wounds)

awesomeness, I am quite jealous of the both or you. I need to see them! I don't really care about Anette's voice, she won't persuade me to miss them. Plus the news of her voice getting better tis another push to go see them once I do get another chance to.

Nightwish have been nominated for best Finnish band at the MTV European Music awards. I'm sure you lovely people will want them to win. There's also a rather sneaky way for us to get this to happen. 1. Get firefox if you don't have 2. Download IMacro addon, google it. 3.Go to ema.musictelevision.fi/vote/ (suomalainan artisti is the category, from there click Nightwish, then vote, but until you've looked at the remaining steps) 4.In Imacro press record, vote for Nightwish and then press stop. 5. Set maximum to 99999 (or whatever number you like) and press Play (Loop) 6. ? 7.Profit!

Wow, its been a while since this updated XD For anyone who still follows Nightwish: The new Nightwish album, "Imaginaerum" will be released towards the end of this year. Instrumental/ Orchestral disks will apparently be available once again. The first single, "Storytime" will be released on the 11th November. There will be a film to go with the album- apparently directed by the guy who directed their "Islander" music video. More details, and artwork, can be found on Nightwish's website. Official album artwork and tracklist should be out on Friday

A new album is exciting, I don't listen to Nightwish as often anymore because my taste in music has changed a bit, but I do listen to both the old albums and the new on occasion. I will definitely check out Imaginaerum when it is released!
