Often when an actor is required to smoke for a role, they user herbal cigarettes, which taste like ass but don't contain nicotine so are not addictive. Also with the inhaling, yeah. When you watch closely, a lot of actors don't inhale.

Maybe. I would love to know if she was approached, but I guess we never will.

Apparently, they are making a Horrid Henry movie. www.imdb.com/title/tt1684555/With Richard E Grant. And Anjelica Huston. Can I just start a chorus of WHY THE HELL ISN'T MIRANDA IN THIS MOVIE? I mean, seriously. You do the book voices for god knows how many and you don't even get a part in the live-action film? Not even a cameo? Seriously? (Plus she has such great acting chemistry with REG, I would so love to see them in something together again)

Judging by those pants, it would seem that Miranda is an Ephalba fan.

She looks very soft and pretty in that dress. Such a perfect choice for her - a nice contrast to the character she was nominated for.

These are fab! I wonder if this is someone else's desk, or if she's egotistical enough to have a photograph of herself on her own

YAY BAFTAS. And stuff you, Oscar Academy. I won't be bothering with the Oscars much this year. Not a SINGLE nomination for Made in Dagenham.

She's so adorably awkward in those earlier interviews. You can see where she gets her reputation for being sharp, definitely, but having seen a lot of interviews with her it always seems as though she's only like that when she's nervous.

I am fantasising that there will be a Rita/Rufus-tastic scene on the DVD. I CAN PRETEND IF I WANT TO.
Also, randomly, if you've seen the super hi-res version of that Rita pic, check out how crappily her nails were put on, and also you can totally see the blonde hair weave/net thing *incredibly observant*
I really hope she is in part two, at least a little.

OSCAR BUZZZZZ!
I don't actually care whether Hollywood tells her she's awesome by giving her an Oscar (she doesn't need it, to me, to *be* awesome), but I'd love to see her nom'd just so she'll show up in a pretty dress :-D
(haha, my cat just totally high-fived my foot with his own)

I wondered that too. So I had a look at DH pt 2 on IMDb, and it has almost everyone listed for Part 2 as well (including Bill Nighy, but not Brendan Gleeson, which is interesting, because I can't think of what cause they might have for a Scrimgeour flashback BUT IT GIVES ME HOPE). So either they don't know who appears in what and have just put everyone's name down, or Rita (and Rufus, yay) will actually be showing up in part 2.

Katherine, they didn't cut any Rita scenes from Deathly Hallows. Rita didn't *have* any scenes in DH. Although I had hoped they would add some (preferably with Bill to fuel my Rita/Rufus fangirlyness), I thought they were remarkably true to the way Rita was presented in the book. It was just like that. Her voice as the author of this sordid tale about Dumbledore, somehow believed by everyone. She got to be all sassy and mess with people's heads without running the risk of having herself killed/her hair messed up, which honestly I imagine is exactly how she would have wanted it *g*. I do hope we get an actual scene from her in part two - she was said to be *cast*, after all, and I think it rather unsporting of them to say that they cast her and then do nothing but feature shots of her that they took from GoF - but they didn't take anything away from her character in this film (that all happened in the one she *did* appear in)
