I don't know if any of you on here are Law and Order: SVU fans, but over the last season I have been watching Kelli Giddish on there, and there have been several times that I've thought she kind of looks like Miranda. It's mostly in motion, certain facial expressions, but I do think there is a similarity in cheekbones (and obviously in colouring). What do you guys think? I think they could totally play mother and daughter convincingly. This is Kelli. And a shot of Miranda that I think shows what I'm talking about better than some:

msshayxpear, if you have written fics, I recommend posting them at fanfiction.net, or if they are too explicit for that, perhaps start a LiveJournal to post them?
All of my Rita/Miranda-related fic used to be crossposted here, but I have always posted at LiveJournal, and I also use the AO3. Many of my fics are rather explicit, but that's not a problem there.
If you guys are going to share fics by sending them to each other, please don't do so by PM. Exchange emails via PM if you like, but I don't believe that PMs are actually private. As a board admin, I can't read people's PMs, but I expect that proboards staff probably can.
(Incidentally, it was probably my fault that the boards got this stern warning -- we were actually deleted for a few days, which I find hilarious, really, because people had been using proboards for posting explicit material for as long as proboards existed, and they never cared until this crackdown. Interestingly, not long after said crackdown, the 'sharing' links with Facebook and other social media sites popped up. Draw your own conclusions about that.)

Great interview. I love it when journalists comment on the sometimes-difficulty of interviewing her without making her sound like a frosty bitch. It really does seem, from all the interviews with her that I've seen/read, that she really just has no patience for idiots, or lazy journalists. Likening the interview to a game of something, in which both participants have to be skilled for both to enjoy it, seems rather apt.

Haven't seen anyone post this; just stumbled across it randomly on Youtube. It's a segment of Miranda's talk at the Hudson Union Society, in which she talks about voice coaching. youtu.be/6RcfHpEtub0In case you can't figure it out (it took me a while to get it, but I did get it before they mentioned the title! *g*), the film they're talking about is 'The Apostle'. (yeah, embed doesn't work. Way to fail, proboards)

I know right! She dies in Spider too OR DOES SHE? *g* Spider is fairly ambiguous, after all. There are quite a lot of films in which Miranda's character dies. But then they are generally pretty awesome roles, so if the options are see her in an awesome role and see the character die, or see her in a nothing part where the character lives, I choose the former. That said, there are several awesome roles that do not involve Miranda-character-death. Just a few I love: Gideon's Daughter, The Scold's Bridle, The Rage in Placid Lake, St. Ives, Wah-Wah.

I don't think the CZJ hate (that you've seen on these boards in old old threads, I guess?) was because she 'robbed' Miranda. I think it had something to do with a comment she made in an interview once - that she would like to play Ruth Ellis because no one had ever 'played her properly' before, or something along those lines.
Those threads were fairly old when I joined the forums, and though there might be some Miranda fans out there who can hold a grudge, I think the outrage has well and truly died down.
I certainly wouldn't hold a grudge. It's quite possible that CZJ had never even heard of 'Dance With a Stranger' when she made that comment, and even if she had, well, you know. She didn't have to like it. If that was the case, I would disagree with her, but yeah.
Fans can just get a little protective sometimes *g*.

And don't forget... Husbands should be like Kleenex. Soft, strong, and disposable. *nods* I love this woman. Have you ever seen 'Mixed Nuts'? It's a weird, darkly comic little Christmas movie that she's in, also starring Steve Martin, Rita Wilson, Juliette Lewis and a then unknown Adam Sandler. If you haven't seen it, you should. It's epic. And odd. And here is one of my favourite SNL skits ever, from the first five years, featuring Madeline with Jane Curtin, Gilda Radner and Laraine Newman, the original ladies of the not ready for primetime players. s612.photobucket.com/albums/tt209/vidgal/?action=view¤t=MadelineJaneGildaLaraine.mp4

Events of Today :
Put new Nightwish CD in car, cranked volume.
Drove to shops to do some Christmas shopping.
Within a half-hour, first side-eye from other motorist.
Why yes, good sir, my car is an orchestra.
Why? Because fuck you, that's why.
(First listen? Gave me chills. Impressed.)

Ohhh I see those are 'pages' rather than actual accounts. That might work, then. Neat!

Hee, awesome. They probably won't last long, though, unfortunately. I had some fun creating a Rita one once, then a friend of mine created a Rufus Scrimgeour and we listed ourselves as 'married' or 'it's complicated' (can't remember which) and proceeded to snark endlessly on each other's walls. It only lasted a few days, though, before FB deleted both the accounts. Because they're killjoys and they suck.

So I was googling around tonight and found this pic of Miranda that I've never seen before. Might be old news to some of you, but I thought I'd post it anyway

They're still bad for you. Even without nicotine and tar, breathing in something that is burning is bad for you. But if you have to smoke for a role, better to mostly not inhale herbal cigarettes than to get yourself addicted (or re-addicted) to nicotine.
