Of course - as a male - I find her very beautiful, sexy and intelligent.
But of course, I've often asked the question - to myself, as it were - would I be so interested in her if she resembled the back of a bus ? The truth is , I'm afraid , probably NOT....
There's no problem or shallowness with that , however. Her beauty is part of the package, as it were. In fact, roles often demand good looks. For example, when we first hear of Mab in the Script of Merlin she is described as " a darkly beautiful woman........powerful and charismatic.........dressed sleekly....."
No matter how kind or generous we all like to be, I think we'd have problems casting someone who resembled the back of a bus ( so to speak, and yeah, yeah I know about inner beauty ) in the role of Queen Mab !
In short, she had to be a stunner......hence Miranda !
As I said before, to use that awful word " package " again - she just has so much going for her....... Great looks, intelligence, wit, integrity, sincerity - and oh yes - she just happens to be the most versatile actress in the world...........talk about being at the front of the queque when it came to desirable attributes!!!
Though, of course, nobody just gives you success on a plate .........but with so much going for her, she did have a bit of a head start on the likes of most of us ! She probably doesn't see it that way, and with her 120% commitment works very hard in every role, I'm sure.....

LOL, don't worry, you're not going to get lynched. Miranda is stunning, no questions about that.
I've got no problems with people casting good looking actors and actresses in parts (as long as it doesn't affect the part adversely- if a character is not supposed to be beautiful or look like a model, then its silly to cast a beautiful actress/actor- like in these TV shows were everyone looks thin and pretty and well dressed- reality is not like that!). The only problem with that interpretation is that people tend to take the term "good looking" as synonymous with "thin", which it isn't. Being thin does not make you stunning, and neither does it mean people who aren't thin aren't pretty... sorry, I'm not saying that's what you were saying, Mick, this is me gone off on a tangent again...

Agreed, Himiko - and well said.
It's just that if a role - or a part in an original novel for that matter - called for someone to be, well, irrestible - it would be daft to cast someone who wasn't, if you know what I mean!
It could spoil the whole work - make the characters chasing him/her look rather silly - create a comic affect when this was not the original intention of the writer, say........
So, in the right circumstances, I too, have no problem with actors/actresses who are good-looking. They should be able to act !
That's why I like Miranda.......

I think that one of the most good aspects in Miranda is the fact that she is beautifull, but she never uses her beauty to get a role or anything else. And, by the pictures of her in public events, she never appears with that air of "look at me, I'm absolutly stunning!" as many other celebreties. I think her simplicity makes her looks even more gorgeous!

well, yeah, I'd never say not-so-pretty people can't have carisma, but well, yeah. it's of course good to be good-looking so you can be cast for good-looking roles, but actors shoud def. not be cast BECAUSE they are good-looking *coughCZJcough*. other than that I'd like to second everything Mick and himiko have said and congratulate Mick on yet another constructive, intelligent post.

One of the many things I love about Miranda is that she is unique. She doesn't look like every other actress out there. She is an individual and I don't think she can be compared to any other actress.
