Are you stuyding the classics?? I need to read some Sallust and really HATE it lol. Aw, come on. Just keep in mind that the Sallustian perception of history is vastly important to understand many, many other works and events in Roman history and society. Do you have to read the original, or is it a translation? I seem to recall Sallustian Latin to be rather tough.

To be honest: I'm not terribly interested in Roman history, it've always been more interested in modern history. I have to get my "Latinum" as soon as poss, because I need it for my studies. So I have to translate it really, not READ it. It doesn't have to be stylistically brilliant, just correct in its translation. I can't really say if it's hard or not since i have no point of reference. Some bits of Caesar, which is rater easy and Cicero (which I hated)... but oh well... oh and now I'm reading Fight Club btw. Again.

Aw, you poor thing. University Latinum courses must be hell. Every time I see the hordes coming out of the room after a lesson I'm glad it's not me.

Ah It's ok you have all summer!!! I had my last day of school today and exams starting Monday. It is now crunch time!! I haven't had much time for pleasure reading lately but the most recent book I read was The Plantagentet Prelude by Jean Plaidy. I adore Eleanor of Aquitaine so I liked this book, although it did take me forever despite its small size.

I read a good one about Eleanor when I was younger in the Royal Diaries collection. She is an interesting person in history! I am obessed with Tudor history and can't stop reading about them lately! I am going to try to plow through all the books by my bed this summer and eventually read my book for school!

Oh I remember the Royal Diaries!! I loved those! The one I remember the most is of Elizabeth I. I loved that one!! I read it again last year I think, because I like it so much! Tudor history is one of my favourite topics as well!! I found a book about Anne Boleyn on my history teacher's bookshelf in the classroom two weeks ago and abducted it for the day. I didn't get the chance to read much of it sadly, because of actual schoolwork and such. I have a lot of books by my bed too, they are all in a drawer underneath it because I have long since run out of room on my shelf. I think there is about 20 in there. xd I went to a garage sale a few weeks back and this lady had tons of awsome books all in perfect condition. They were all 25 cents each so I went crazy. It was quite fun. I can't wait to read them!!

I adore Anne Boleyn, she is my favorite historical figure in the history of ever. Also, The Other Queen is a divine novel. I just recently finished Phillipa Gregory's latest, "The White Queen," myself.
Yes, I poked my head out of lurkerdom for the first time in months to say that.

I love Anne Boleyn too!!! She is definitely one of my favourite historical figures! In my top priority books is Philippa Gregory's The Queen's Fool. I have been wanting to read that book for so long and I finally have it!! I can't wait until exams are done so I can start reading it! The girl on the cover always remids me of Miranda in The Young Victoria.

I read The White Queen a few months ago and adored it!!!!! I can't wait for the next book The Red Queen to come out in August!! Philippa is amazing! She is such a fantastic author! She is my hero and someday I want to be her!! I know I am in a fan girl rant now, so I will stop and just say I am in awe of Philippa's books!
