Always had a soft spot for the classics. Recently read Dracula all the way through recently (and not just because of the great film with Gary Oldman haha) Really enjoyed it Need to give Frakenstein a go...
Atm I'm reading the 1st Sookie Stakehouse book - 'Dead Until Dark'

I have never read Dracula or seen the movie, but it seems scary!!! I still want to read it someday. My friend recently read it and she said she was reading it right before bed and was a little scared of what she was going to dream. I love Frankestein though!!

I just read 'Silence of the Lambs'... awesome and creepy
I really like Artemis Fowl books atm. I was really happy when I saw a dream cast list for the movie... made by a fan... and Miranda was in it hehe. Looking forward to last book - book 8.
Also loving Mercedes Lackey as a fantasy author atm.
I need to buy more books as I read so fast and I never seem to have time to get to a library!

I'm starting the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, I wasn't going to read it at first, but now my book club is studying it and I have heard more about it. It actually sounds like I might like it!! I don't know why I didn't want to read it... Has anyone else read it?

I can't wait to see the film!! I am going to see it on Tuesday!!! I really love the casting and it looks really good so I am looking forward to it. I have also been reading The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins and I am LOVING it!!! Right now I am on book two which is called Catching Fire.

Omg! Those are the two I own!!! Wow we must have really similar tastes in books For Mercedes Lackey I recommend 'Firebird', 'The Fairy Godmother' (and its sequels) and 'The Serpents Shadow' (and its sequels) For Kim Wilkins I recommend 'Angel of Ruin', 'Rosa and the Veil of Gold', and 'The Infernal'

(Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) Ya those scenes..... I know some other people who read the book, one of my teachers couldn't sleep for a few days after, and her friend had to skim it because she couldn't stand actually reading it! I totally know what you mean!! I was debating on whether or not to watch the movie, but I think I am going to wait until they make the English one. I may have to wait a while. I know the first version is supposed to be amazing but I don't know about the subtitles. XD Should I watch it anyway? Mercedes Lackey's novels sound so awsome!!! I love twists on Fairy tales!!!! Which is also why I read Red Riding Hood! I looked at a few of Wilkin's books as well, they seem really cool too!!!! I want to read all of these books right now!!!!!

Give the subtitled one a go. The subtitles didn't stop me understanding or liking it. As for the scenes... well they aren't particularly graphic but they are pretty brutal.
Yeah Mercede's Lackey is awesome! See if you can find her books!

I read the first chapter of The Fairy Godmother on Mercedes Lackey's website and it seemed really good so I have ordered it from the library. If I like it perhaps I will buy it, or some of her other novels!!!! Thank you guys so much for the recommendations!!
Oh and I just watched the trailer for the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo again, it looks so intense and it looks just like the novel, I think I do want to watch it! I hope after seeing it the English version doesn't disappoint!!! I'm sure it will be good too!! It has a good cast!

I love 'The Fairy Godmother' and its sequels. I think there are 5 in all now Mercedes's 'Elemental Masters' trilogy is also very good. Every story is based on a fairy tale... but in a very different way to the '1000 Kingdoms' series. The first one is 'The Serpent's Shadow' I believe I don't know if I'll bother reading 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.' I've heard its hard going and some scenes are more brutal than in the film. For those who like dark fantasy I would also recommend Garth Nix, another Australian author (Kim Wilkins is also from Australia). His 'Old Kingdom' series is fantastic. The first book is 'Sabriel'
