That's the boy! Never give up hope! Last week we found out that my mother has black skin cancer, but it doesn't look like it's already spread very far, her lungs and her brains are still free. Now we're hoping that it will be done after one or two operations.

Ooh! Yippee, a Merlin thread. Pardon me for dredging up a very old thread, but I thought it might be nice to remember "Merlin" as we wait <taps foot impatiently> for Hallmark to finish whatever it is they're doing and actually release Merlin's Apprentice. Though I personally don't think it'll be as good as the original, but that's because a) I have very little faith in sequels, and b) No Mab But hey, who cares, it'll have Miranda in it, and its "Merlin" related, so I'm happy. Anyway, apologies for the rather pointless post, but with Mab being my absolute favourite Miranda character (or any character), I just couldn't resist bumping the thread up. ;D

No worries, bumping up old threads is good! I still haven't seen Merlin, but I ordered it. It's coming in the mail in a week or so...
Also, I can't get the Scold's Bridle because they want *clears throat* 60 dollars for the movie! It's insane, so hopefully in a year the price will go down.

Ah, I hope you enjoy Merlin! Miranda is in it lots and lots. Always a good thing. I haven't seen SB, but I wouldn't fork out $60 for it, I have to say. For a start, I am suffering from an acute case of lack-of-money... Luckily, I got a brand new copy of Merlin for only £10. Happy me!

Miranda-films usually are more expensive than other films (I could sing a song on that), I paid almost 30 euros ( that's 20 pounds, don't ask me about dollars) for spider , and for churchhill, and now I keep looking on ebay, though you have to be lucky to find something.

yea australian dollars have terrible exchange rates in europe especially in the uk in asia we're fine but everywhere else its madness...but its ok because just say here you buy a top for $40 aus dollars then go to london and buy the same top it will be about 10-15 pounds...some things are however more expensive in england but then again some things are more expensive here in aus like rasberries and blueberries lol

Probably because she was playing an "unlikeable" character by most people's standards (not by mine, I quite like Rita). Also she wasn't in it very much. Sadly.

Ahh yes! Merlin came and I've watched it twice, and I've already memorized every word. SQUEE! I love it. Love it, love it, love it! I'm thinking about being Mab for Halloween...but I might be the Bride of Frankenstein. Anyway, did I mention that I loved it. I thought it was hilarious when she said "Get on with it" to Frik and threw the water at him...and it 'froze' sort of. Ahh! Pure genious.

Yay! Glad you finally got to see it. I dressed as Mab for Halloween once, but I couldn't do the voice. (sadly). I too have memorised every word- well, everything Mab says, anyway. I like that part of the film, too. But I still think Merlin should have lost at the end. That would have been good.
Out of interest, madamegiry, have you got the normal edition of Merlin that just comes with the film and the little documentary, or the "special edition" one, with the director's commentary etc. I got the normal one, and I'm curious about what Steve Barron says in the commentary, and also what extra bits they put in the film (apparently they replaced about half an hour of the film with stuff that was filmed but not shown in the final version). Not that I spend far too much of my energies wondering about these things...
