There is a really interesting site I use whenever I'm creating birthdays for my characters (either RP or otherwise), and I thought some of you might be interested to read what it has to say about Pisces, which is Miranda's star sign.
Obviously, a lot of that is analysis of a highly personal nature, so we couldn't possibly know whether it's accurate for her or not, but a lot of it seems to ring true to me.
Especially this passage:
They are also versatile and intuitive, have quick understanding, observe and listen well, and are receptive to new ideas and atmospheres. All these factors can combine to produce remarkable creativity in literature, music and art. They may count among their gifts mediumistic qualities which can give them a feeling that their best work comes from outside themselves, "Whispered beyond the misted curtains, screening this world from that." Even when they cannot express themselves creatively they have a greater than average instinct for, and love of, beauty in art and nature, a catlike appreciation of luxury and pleasure, and a yearning for new sensations and travel to remote, exotic places.
I think the idea of Miranda as like that - sort of leading from the heart, not the head, and being somewhat of an eclectic free spirit seems rather spot on, reflected in things like her dress sense and spontaneity of facial expression, etc.
I particularly find this sentence - Their friends may find their diffidence and sense of their own unimportance irritating - resonates with me, if you replaced 'friends' with 'fans'. Miranda seems so wary and unsure, sometimes, like the idea that she has fans bothers her. I wish - or I hope, I suppose - that she really does understand that she brings light and enjoyment to people's lives through what she does.
It's interesting, because my mother is a Pisces as well, and a lot of that doesn't really suit her at all, but then I see bits of it that make me think 'oh, god yes'. I don't think people can truly be boxed like that into 12 different 'types', but I think it's interesting to see what traits a person does have, based on their star sign. I really love the descriptions on that site. Check out Gemini, if you don't believe me. It is SO Rita it's not even funny, and this isn't a site I check whenever I write or play her, it's just something that's grown organically out of her.
