Yes they do !!! For I am one of them !!! Well I am a male student and a huge Miranda Richardson fan. I've read a certain number of speculations about Mrs. Richardson's private life, well, nobody 'normal' like people to get nosy about their private life, so I guess neither does she, all the more as she can have easy access to this message board, she must find it quite funny to see all these speculations : "is she gay ?" is the guy with the jacket her guy etc." . Honestly I don't care. Honestly I don't give a sh*** if she's a lesb or whatever, I'm among her Nber Ones fan and that's all. Nevertheless, as I'm a super-male super-man, she could contact me when I'm logged in if she wanted to LOL !!!! When did I have the "Miranda Richardson crush" ? When I saw Sleepy Hollow on DVD : Cheeses !!!! She's just RADIANT !! <3 <3 <3 WOW !!!! <3 <3 <3 But as I saw the last Merlin's apprentice images, I was rather scared !!! !!!!!!!! OUCH !!!!!!!!

yeah, it's generally agreed on that that was one of the movies she shouldn't have done.
Welcome!

Hey, and welcome! Do feel free to register and count yourself as 'one of us' if you so desire. And hee, yes, male Miranda fans do seem to exist. As far as I know, our webmaster Clive is very much male, and there are a few others floating around . Fandom, though, from my experience, seems to be a largely female environment. To be honest, Miranda doesn't strike me as the kind of woman to google-search herself or come to read us gushing over her on the forums. I could br wrong, of course - I don't know her - but from the way she's acted when she's met fans (from my own experience and hearing some stories from others), she seems rather surprised/awkward about the fact that people seem to love her for what she does. I can see why, really - I mean, really, she's an actress, and one who seems to be passionate about her chosen charities, etc. I suppose it would be odd to think that people virtually worship you because you entertain them, when there are so many other people in the world who a so much of what could be perceived as really important, and get no thanks at all. But of course, that doesn't stop me from loving her. In fact, I think it makes me like her more. She's very real. I completely agree with you on those pictures, btw. The second one - is that some sort of behind-the-scenes interview? I don't remember that costume in the film (though it has been a while since I saw it). I haven't yet seen Merlin's Apprentice (when I was in the UK and it was shown I had no tv upon which to watch it, woes), but it doesn't sound as if I'm really missing much. But I probably would sit through a few hours of tripe to watch her, because I'm sure she'd make an admirable effort even with a shitty script. Anyway, yes. Welcome! </ramble>

Welcome! Please do join up, we need fresh topics of conversation to keep the board active!
Indeed, Merlin's Apprentice... not so great... But definitely don't let that put you off watching the original. The original is far superior, and Mab is a much better character than Lady of the Lake.
I have to say, if I were Miranda Richardson, I would probably be very scared over the fact that most of us are crazed obsessive lunatics. But, we must have somewhere to be loony and obsessive- what better place than in a forum! ;D

You even wonder if MALE Miranda fans exist? megalol)))))))) I remember that I always knew that there is such an actress as Miranda Richardson, I saw her in some movies, but the time came when I landed my hands on "Merlin"... do I really need to say anything more?))))) And then Rita Skeeter.... Gosh, she's fantastic! As for Merlin's Apprentice... I think I'm on the other side of the barricads here, the film isn't great, yes, but Miranda is good in it! I like her with black hair colour and the dress is great... Ok, I can't think clearly about her!)))))

Gee, I love Miranda. But on the last pic I posted (Merlin's apprentice). Dare I say it ? She's just er... u.. u... ugly. Okay so I guess this was made on purpose. But Miranda shouldn't accept roles that disfigure her beautiful face like that. Actually. I enjoyed Merlin, the best part in this movie is definitely the thespians. Sam Neill is AMAZ I I I N G.......... When he talks it gives me the creeps because he's so serious and convincing. and his face-to-face with Miranda Richardson is just awesome !!! Gosh ! These two actors are so GREAT .... Add Rutger Hauer and for that matter John Gielgud (RIP...). Oh my god !!!!! John Gielgud !!!! He only acts for 5 seconds but what a part !!!!!!!!! He gave me the creeps !!!!!!!! He's A W E S O M E. (or he was for that matter). I mean, Mrs. Bonham Carter (a good actress) is almost minored by these performers don't you agree ? Yes Merlin's apprentice doesn't seem too attractive. (sorry miranda LOL) Why did I post this topic ? Well with all these Miranda-vatars I had the impressions there were many women (which is huh... great lol) on this board. vantasselhighorder wrote : "who wouldn't like her ?" Well there must exist some people who don't like her, you know, actors or actresses have their pros and cons. Rita oh yes wrote : "To be honest, Miranda doesn't strike me as the kind of woman to google-search herself or come to read us gushing over her on the forums. Well, that depends on how humble acting people are but they (and as long as I can suppose that must be true for Mrs Richardson too) are not stupid. They know the performances they give, and therefore they can infer the "kind" of people - or just imagine some people - who must enjoy their work. Maybe I'm not so clear. I'm not sure that she's reading these boards ; your remarks are very relevant, but it also depends on how computer-connected people are. Many people today are very familiar to computers and the Internet and I suspect there must be no exceptions with actors. If you were an actor, would you google-search yourself ? I'd guess you would. For that matter, I would. I don't worship her, that's a very strong word. Besides, I'm not a man to stuggle to "see" an actress in real life by all means. Celebs are entitled to privacy. Have heard this stupid story about one Russian Hilary Duff fan who came to Hollywood and harassed her etc etc. just cos he wanted to see her ? !! pathetic. That must be the difference between I (we) Mrs. Richardson fans and Hilary Duff fans LOL ! You didn't recognize the 2nd picture ? it's a pic from Snow White. Gosh isn't she BEAUTIFUL in this (not so good, well she's the only good element) movie. She's gorgeous in this movie. Himikos wrote : "most of us are crazed obsessive lunatics" Well... talk for yourself. QueenoftheDance wrote : "you are indeed a rare creature on this board, we shall look after you well and stuff you for posterity when you are no more..." Thanks !! but i'm 22 and I got plenty of time before "I am no more" see ya

Hey, glad you joined up properly! When I suggest that Miranda is shy or humble (I don't know if the two are the same thing at all. I think she is definitely the former, but who really knows about the latter? Most people are aware of their strengths, and are proud of them, and I wouldn't call that egotistical), I'm just going by how she behaves in interviews (seems almost uncomfortable being herself, sometimes) and the way she acted when I met her. Like a lot of British actresses, she seems to be uncomfortable talking about herself, apart from the times when she's describing the way she took on a role and interpreted it. It's a rare interviewer who manages to get her to open up. I would imagine that discomfort at talking about onesself or being willing to hear praise about onesself, even if it is mostly in public, would probably be so ingrained that one would have the same reaction on reading about a bunch of random crazy fangirls (and fanboys ) gushing about how brilliant you were. Just MO, though
