*giggles* Yep, Lane *pets you*
Well, Frik evidently could lie, because he had no intention of teaching Morgan magic- indeed, she couldn't learn it- when he told her he would. So the question of how precisely the "Fair Folk" are defined is a little ambiguous.

And here I thought there was a wonderous new character I'd somehow missed in the books. What a let down! XD Srsly... we must just give Lane a little more alcohol and we'll have a weird and wonderful new OC. But for the record, I like your posts just as they are... biatvch.

EDIT: OK, I seriously have no idea what I was trying to say on this one... *ded* But I was clearly off-topic... *dedder*

You never know, maybe Frink is Frik's never-before-mentioned brother? Or sister, who knows?

Ummm... noo, not quite *pets some more* Methinks Frik is a very long way indeed from an elemental king. Also, he's a gnome, so his element is Earth, and Earth already has an elemental king *points* I was just commenting (not entirely seriously) that perhaps the "new character that wasn't" might in fact have existed, and just never have been mentioned in the book. Who's provoking? I am merely mocking

Err.. I didn't get... Shall repl to that,... EDIT: That was supposed to be "Err, I didn't get it.. Shall reply to that later" (and I meant "edit"xd) OK, here it goes. Frik was indeed a gnome, but that would make him part of the Fairy Folk. But when did he lie exactly?... As far as I know, what he said to Morgan was "You'll make a wonderful pupil for the fantastic things I can teach you." He never said he *would* teach her anything, only that he had the ability to, so where's the lie? Edit: *has gone through the book as well* Or the writer simply contradicted himself - I understand it wouldn't exactly be a first?

Do you mean Tarja? Are you a Nightwish fan too? Have you been converted as well?
Back on topic...I've never really gotten the Mab or Miranda vibe from her.

In some pictures, I think it does, but at the end of the day, all that really matters is that they are two extremely beautiful and - even more important - talented woman.
*obligatory pro-Tarja rant: I'd like to point out to the tasteful clothes she's wearing as opposed to H&M emo-style Anette*

Hmmm, I wouldn't say Tarja looks particularly similar to Miranda, per se, though the long black hair and heavy stage makeup (not particularly apparent in this video, I'll admit), is a tiny bit reminiscent of Mab, though there are many other women, particularly in metal, who do the whole black hair and heavy makeup, too. The raised eyebrow expression she did in that video reminded me more of various Miranda characters than she usually does though. Ah, well, Mab's better looking anyway (IMO). Also she's never murdered "Poison" ... And YAY for more Nightwish/Tarja fans, there certainly are a lot of us on this board. I have to admit, Anette's grown on me slightly, I don't think I'm ever going to really like her voice, though, it's just not my thing. *is still bitter about the fact they didn't hire Hansi Kursch* *wonders if they might consider hiring Magali Luyten next time instead* And on the subject of Mab and various vocalists, as I have said before, Dani Filth SOUNDS far more like Mab. Though he doesn't really look like Miranda either, his face is too rounded... *ends ramble* EDIT: OK, I should probably make clear, I do think Tarja has a lovely voice, and MWS isn't a bad album, it's just the "Poison" cover I take increasing amounts of issue with.

i think i'm probably reading into mab's facial expressions way too much, but rewatch the vortigern scene. When Mab hands vortigern her tear, there is a moment when her mouth twitches. maybe she was thinking "in other circumstances, i would be wishing you nothing but ill" or she was showing her desperation for a second. i noticed that twitch awhile ago and now i can't stop seeing it everytime i watch that scene.
