Hi Folks
Here's a Miranda and Liv snippet! Enjoy!
*Another copy and paste Queen production * ;D
They say every dog has his day, and in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, a congregation of canines are having the time of their lives. It's the Macmillan Dog Day - a paradise of doggie- related doings, all in aid of the famous cancer charity, and hundreds of well- heeled Chelsea types, accompanied by their furry friends, have turned out for the occasion. Some are being made beautiful by Dan Thomas, dog groomer to the stars (responsible for Harry Halliwell's hairdos), others are browsing for top-class accessories, such as silver-plated water bowls and designer coats and leashes. In the VIP tent, some famous pooches and their owners are chilling out with strawberries and champagne.
Miranda Richardson strolls in accompanied by Liv, her German short-haired pointer. 'I waited a long time to get a dog, then I just thought, well why not? What am I waiting for?' explains the actress, who snogged Nicole Kidman in The Hours. 'I called her Liv because it's short, it sounds foreign and, as she's liver-coloured, I thought it was appropriate.'
Miranda and Liv make a lovely couple - the actress's patterned top is a perfect foil for Liv's dappled coat. But they're not just at the Dog Day for fun. They have serious work to do - judging the first competition of the day, 'The Dog with the Waggiest Tail'. Quite a responsibility. 'I think we're ready for it,' says Miranda. 'Obviously, we can't compete but Liv does have a very waggy tail - when she gets started, she gets a really good blur going on.'
Miranda and Liv take to the field. As How Much Is That Doggy In The Window? plays, the canine contestants are narrowed down to a final six. In the end, a black and white King Charles cavalier spaniel whose tail is whirling like a propeller is pipped to the post by an apricot-coloured poodle. Some might say the spaniel was robbed, but the judge's decision is final, and the poodle leaves with a year's supply of Pedigree (the dog food formerly known as Chum). Miranda declares, 'I can honestly say I wasn't bribed.'
