True, true. Doesn't change the fact that she can't act though. Mind you, neither can Meg Ryan. Whenever I see something with her in, I always get the urge to say "And here we have Meg Ryan, in another generic romantic comedy, playing another somewhat ditzy yet feisty blonde who falls in love at innappropriate moments" Sorry, but IMO, if the majority of parts that someone plays are basically identical, then how is that showing a range of acting skills?

It doesn't, but they're the ones who "act" for the money alone. And I'm sure it'll be a very nice looking wageslip, regardless of the actor's/actress's acting talent (or lack of it, as the case often is)

fact is that (the majority of! people on here are the exception!!!!!!) Americans don't really like movies where they have to think alot, and where they don't get their happy end. thus, hollywood produces sallow romantic comedies with happy endings where the characters are always more or less the same. and the actors (I am using this word in as wide as possible a sense here) who are willing to play themselves all the time get the big money, because the films everyone wants to see have the big budgets

Pheobe...yes, you're right! I'm sure she's not completely evil (that hurt to type ) However, that comment was just the icing on the cake for me. She just represents everything I hate about Hollywood and the acting industry... xxx

You're probably right, Incapability. Does the same apply to popular British music? People not wanting to have to think to hard? Because that would explain a great many *ahem*...singers...

It would, now that you mention it. People just want to hear and see things they're familiar with and seem unwilling to take the chance to see/hear something they're not used to, which is a great shame.

Exactly. Listening to symphonic metal might be infinitely more interesting and enjoyable than listening to yet another dance/rap/pop track, but can you really see the majority of people (especially chavs, I have to say) willingly listening to heavy metal coupled with classical instruments?

You're a Nightwish fan then? My friend really likes them. I've heard a few of their songs, they're pretty good.

They so are. Even non-metal fans love "Nemo" and regret that Tarja was chucked out of the band.
Well, in a world where Paris Hilton can produce an album, you cannot expect too much musical taste.

*bows down to the glory that is Nightwish*
In short, yes LOVE THEM!!!!!!! And other bands like "Within Temptation", "Rhapsody", "Epica" and "Leaves Eyes" are good, too. My favourite album is "Century Child" ( a Nightwish creation, need I say?!), which should be made obligatory listening for all.

Why was Tarja chucked out of the band anyway?

According to the band, they felt Tarja was starting to only be interested in Nightwish as a way of making money, and not as a band anymore. I don't know how true that is, but you can find the letter that they wrote to her at the link below. www.nightwish.com/en/article/6
