our feeling about volleyball are pretty much the same. I'm very afraid of balls coming towards me ever since a basketball almost broke my nose when I was eight. and I always get horribly blue wrists from playing volleyball.

It was the hideous embarassment of always missing the ball or hitting it into the net that got me. It was very traumatic, and probably smashed my self confidence to pieces.

You have so many sports in school!!! When I was in the public school (as I said, know I'm in a professional school), we only play football (soccer), basketball and volleyball!! Now, the only sport I have in the theatre school is dance (wich I rather prefer!). Tomorrow I going to make the national exam of English... I don't know what you call to that, but it's a test to every studants in the country who are in last year of high school. My english improve so much with this board! I wish so much a good mark!

I hate volleyball too. For one thing, I am also terrified of balls flying at me. [But that's not saying much, because I'm acutely paranoid.] I was also kind of traumatized because I used to have to play volleyball in this small, grey, filthy, cement room with orange flourescent lights and chipping paint when we played it in gym class...*shudders* I'm also cholsterphobic, so I suppose that didn't help.
And by the way, morgause, I think your English is wonderful! I know several Americans who can't speak [Or write, I suppose] it as well as you.

I didn't mind volley ball all that much. I only played it for about four weeks though!!
I loved netball way too much. I would happily play it all day, but I hated basket ball sooooooooo much.
Hope you did ok in your exam margause. I'm sure you'll do fine. Your English is great. Way better than any foreign languages I can speak! I have just finished all of my GCSE's (exams which all 16 year old in England have to do!) Such a relief to be done with them!!

Thanks very much for the support!! Well, the exam wasn't so difficult as I was expect, but why they always choose stupid topics to talk about?? It ruin everything!! The exam theme was about the worldwide use of portuguese and english... Ok, everyone knows that english is spoken all over the world and portuguese isn't... But what is the problem?? I love my language but I realise how difficult it is to learn. English is very most simple! Lol, sorry for the these relief after-exam!

after-exam relief is most usual and great to hear about. you should have heard me after I finished my 15-pages-paper on Indians. I was practically jumping with glee.

Well, after the immense failure that was my Maths exam, I was most relieved that I no longer had exams. However, I wish I could have made my celebrations that bit more special by throwing large heavy objects at my Maths teacher.

You could still do it in your mind.
Over and over again.

there doesn't happen to be a magnet in your hammer? the corresponding pole of which happens to reside in your hand?

Ah, yes, that would explain it. Now is not a fortunate time for me to be holding the hammer, however, as a BASTARDISING UNIVERSITY IS CONSPIRING AGAINST ME! I have a university open day tomorrow, and, aside from an email telling me I've been booked into the open day, I have had no correspondence whatsobloodyever, and I can find nothing on the website, which means I have no idea what time I need to be there tomorrow, whether I need to bring anything with me, etc. I will be missing a ton of work, which I will then need to catch up with, I have a pissing horrible cold, and I've spent this afternoon doing work experience at my old secondary school, and heard one of the kids whisper to his friend that I looked like Micheal Jackson. I tell you, it took every fibre of restraint I possessed not to punch the ugly little sod straight in the teeth. Or tell him he was an ugly little bastard. And now, to add insult to injury, there is an advert for volleyball training classes at the top of this page. * I weepses* So, the Merlin-bashing hammer is likely to come in handy.
