Mab rocketed backwards and hit the wall with a force she had never known. Her body shook violently at the pain she experienced. In a brave move, she shook the pain away, half of her knowing that on some level, she deserved that. But when he touched her, all pain was replaced by anger. It was then that she felt the slow trickle of blood on her cheek. Mab turned her head away from him. She wanted to be brave, but refused to show any weakness, either. Mab's body shook with anger. She hated being tosed around by him, as if she was one of the ragdolls she once played with. This was her kingdom. He had no right here. The final tug at her patience was when he ordred her to speak to him, as if she was a simple child. That certainly struck a cord in the heart of the Queen of Air and Darkness. "In my court, we carry out my rule." she said simply, her gaze absorbed in his deep, black holes that he called eyes.

He sat back on his chair and stared at her "well I don't bend to anyones rules...certianly not my daughters" he muttered coldly. Mab frowned looking at him as if he meant nothing to her at this moment, as if she could be speaking to the many walls around her.
"As I said get out" she hissed gently touching her bleeding lip. "You should put some water on that lip" he smirked. Mab narrowed her eyes and leant back in her own chair. Why did he always have to make a joke our of her and mock her like this. "It will be just fine, the blood will clot" she shrugged and stared at his empty expression.

Mab stood. "I have had enough of this. If you will not leave, then I will." she said stubbornly and stormed out of the room. Once the door closed behind her, she waved her hand over her lip and the wound disappeared.

Merlin was sitting in the room resting his head on his arms tiredly. As soon as the door open his head bolted up and he tried to give an innocent smile. Melin looked at Mab as she walked in and began to study again. Frik smiled also but his was more a nervous smile. "Well...how is he doing?" she questioned sternly. Frik nodded quickly "good good...much progress Madame".
Mab narrowed her eyes as if she was not sure but walked slowly over to the throne by the wall. "It just seems strange how he is sleeping, he cannot make progress when his eyes are shut" she scolded. Frik looked at her nervously and scurried out quickly.
Years later Mab looked through her crystals at the new king, his name was Vortigern and smirked. Finally a king on his side, someone who could claim the throne. She put her purple painted nail to her lips and smirked "soon we will be one...one team who will rule the kingdom. No one shall get in our way".
Merlin was older now and had broke away from Mab, she wanted him back on side but knew that was unlikely to happen. She closed her eyes and looked at the image in front of her.

Mab watched Vortigern impatiently over the next few years. Yes, he had betrayed her, but she had to admit that he had his uses. For example, he held the throne until her Merlin was ready to claim it. He also persectued the Christians. But then again, Vortigern persecuted everybody. For every dead Chrstain, there was at least four pagans. Mab sighed. No matter how hard she tried, Christian churches went up and her shrines went down. Mab ran her nails over her crystal ball as she watched Vortigern.

Her eyes suddenly was turned towards the walls as she heard something turning up at the door. Frik looked over at her nervously "Madame, is everything alright?" he smiled. Mab shook her head throwing one of the crystals just above his head "no everything is not alright Frik!" she shouted spitting his name. Frik shivered and looked at his queen nervously "I will do anything to help Madame" he smiled still shaking. "But of course you will frik, because you don't have a choice" she muttered coldly. Frik looked at her and waited "what are we going to do Madame?" he asked quickly. "We are going to pay the King a little visit!" Mab replied simply.

Queen Mab rode to Vortigerns castle the following day. As she entered the gates, people shrank away, pleasing Her Majesty very much. Vortigern was waiting for her, as if he knew she was comming. Mab could see the surprise on his face as he saw her as much as he tried to suppress it. "Hail Vortigern, King of Britian." Mab said, trying not to sound like she was micking him, even though she was. "I am Mab, Queen of the Old Ways." Vortigern remained composed. He knew Mab, having met her years ago. But he had tricked her, betrayed her. What business did she have here? "What brings you here, Madame?" he said with a smirk. Mab cocked her head to one side, trying to read his expression. "I can tell you how to defeat Prince Uther." she said simply and forced a fond smile to grace her features.

Vortigern looked at her and stood up slowly from his throne "you?" he laughed. "What can you do to help me?" he asked slowly. "My magic" she smiled, he scoffed at this comment and almost laughed. "I never used you magic before, I have never been deafeated" he smiled proudly. "you are so stupid Vortigern" she hissed, he looked at her in shock. "Did you just call me stupid?" he frowned. Mab nodded and smirked "it is true, any smart King would take all the help he could get" she grinned.

Vortigern hestitated. "I won't invest time in things I don't believe in," he said "Things, like you." Mab narrowed her eyes at him and flung her cape back so she could walk over to him. She leaned upwards. "Your pride cannot win a battle!" she hissed. "Only your strength. I can giv you strenght." Vortigern looked bored. "Really?" he challenged. "What will this 'alliance' cost me, Madame." Mab looked away, as if she was avoiding the question. "Merlin, the wizard, I want him." Vortigern smiled. "I can't give him up. He is too important. He has visions." Mab rounded on him. "Visions are just dreams, Your Highness, what I have is knowledge, it is fact!" Mab knew that visions were not something she could bestow on Merlin. That was a gift of the Lady of the Lake. "Besides," she said using a lighter tone. "Don't you see visions? Can't you see yourself winning?" Vortigern looked at her sadly, as if the belief in himself that she so openly proclaimed, didn't really exist. "How?" he said. Mab smiled. "Sacrific Nimue to the Great Dragon." she answered promptly. Vortigern's face fell and Mab groaned on the inside. 'Don't you want to win?' she thought. 'Whay are you making your own victory so difficult?'
