-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AND THE BAFTA GOES TO ...MIRANDA RICHARDSON.
IT S easy to Critizise a film ,MANY IN THE SHOW BIZZ ENJOy DOING IT. I WILL simply give my opinion focusing on the best I found.
ONCE MORE I CAN SEE ICONIC MIRANDA RICHARDSON REINVENTING HERSELF. MIRANDA A MAGNIFICENT WOMAN reaching into my heart with this performance. MIRANDA IS "PROVOKING"!! SWEET & SIMPLE, STRONG & WEAK, MIRANDA IS RETURNING TO HIGH DRAMA WITH A REMARKABLE ROLE.
A NOTE: MANDA KEEPS HER REMARKABLE NATURAL BEAUTY,"SHE IS LIKE THE GOOD VINE" DOUBLTESS. HOW MANY ACTRESSES EVEN YOUNGER WOULD LOVE TO LOOK LIKE HER AT HER 40s.
I ve noticed how Beautiful Hands Miranda s got.
A SENSATIONAL ENSEMBLE & CREW.
HOLLYWOOD NEEDS TO LEARN A LOT FROM THIS SMALL MOVIES . AS SO MANY ACTRESSES CAN LEARN FROM A LEGEND SUCH AS MIRANDA RICHARDSON HOW TO BE A "REAL ACTRESS" NOT A "VAGUE SO CALLED STAR".
"PROVOKED" IS UNIQUE,CLEAR & WISE.
TOUCHING FILM OF COURSE EVEN MORE IF THE LEADING LADY IS THE GREATEST BOLLYWOOD STAR,THEY GOT THAT POWER . -A.RAI PASS THE TEST.
PEACE & LOVE
AVALON/VANESSA

If I don't see this film, I'll cry! My computer won't let me download it, and I can't find any word of it in my small backwards little town! This is my new found mission. To see Provoked. Shouldn't be to hard. Easier then my others, actually

I find I have the same goal. It will, however, not be easy for me.

Also just seen Provoked on dvd...
Well, I agree Nessa, Miranda was just radiantly wonderful. I felt all warm and fuzzy about her performance (technical terms there!)
I found the film interesting, and affecting in that it was a true story, but some of the acting was pretty bad. Aishwarya Rai was very sweet but Miranda stood head and shoulders above them all. It's when you see her with weak actors that you really notice how detailed she is...I just found her absolutely enchanting. So warm and loveable. One of my favourites of her performances, I think.
Back to the film...there was a real charm and heart to it, so i don't want to knock it too much...but there were quite a few cliches and quite a lot of clunky dialogue...and as I say, very bad acting. Buty I still kind of liked it. And the story was very inspiring.
And by god, Miranda was marvellous.

There is a behind the scenes making of. But you don't see much Miranda. Though the woman who plays Kiran talks about her. You see Miranda a few little bits where she is getting make-up done and when she is filming the lunch scene.

Finally watched this film yest.
Ronnie remined me a little of Yevone from Spider.
But yes, although Miss Ria is beautiful and was fantastic in this film- her eyes say so many emotins I do feel Miranda outshone her a little- I know we all say that coz we love Manda but in terms of acting out a character Miranda Rules on this count. I was a little disapointed on Julie.T Wallace's performace when Dorren was going to kick the shit outta her I would have been terrified and for people to find out what she done- also when Julie was telling why she was in I just thought it was primary school acting, Julies been in the business for years- she was in the first series of French and Saunders. Quite disaponiting. Beautiful film though- Very disapointing it hasnt been advertised very well.

I got a new internet service, and so finally got to watch this movie. And OMG, I'm still high from it lol. A great film indeed, very touching, with a very strong message. So sad having been a true story. Were all the charatcers based on real people? I agree about Juile T. Wallace, in the scene where she was telling them about what happened to her two girls. In the beginning of that dailog she seemed like she was fake crying, and it just seemed, well, fake. But by the end of it I thought she had gotten back in queit well. Miranda was excelent, but she always is Her character was the coolest by far. Loved a load of her lines, and as always her character is so interesting, wish we could of seen her story as well.
