True. And I think this development from good intentions to evilness can be compared to the development of Mab, in a way.

I must agree. Both Mary and Mab both started out with noble intentions: Mary, trying to avenge her family, and Mab only trying to save her people from extinction. But somwhere along the lines, their actions turned dark.

Though I think LVT becomes darker than Mab in the end. Mab grows more desperate, and ends up killing Morgan, but that is the only person she actively kills throughout the film. Whereas LVT kills many, many people.

True, very true. LVT kills...*counts*twelve people throughout the course of the movie. She may have started out with a beneficial purpose but she turned evil.

Yes, there is no way.. she isn't very frendly... But she is fascinating as a character! I'm sure she is the most complex character in the movie and, of course, no one wouldn't understand it so well as Miranda!

LVT is very complex, that is true. There is more than one side to the woman, that much is clear. Which is why I find it so much fun to write her! I like to get in-depth, to get inside her mind in a way...it's quite enthralling.

Thanks Kierah for like my name!! I agree with you himiko. At the begining she just wanted to have what was taken off her family, but at the end she was so ambicious that she totally looses her control! But it didn't make me dislike her! I love her coldness and her dark beauty!

It's very hard not to love her. She's still a great character, and Miranda plays her brilliantly.

Yep. Miranda's portrayal of LVT is flawless. There's no other way to describe it. *sighs* Not that my parents understand my obsession with the character, but that's a different story.

Back to Katrina...the only reason I dislike her is because I think Christina Ricci's performance is appalling. Now I was really disappointed by that as I love her in other movies, especially Monster, but I simply could not believe how bad she was in SH!!
I came to the conclusion that perhaps she's just not suited to period language?
Sleepy Hollow is one of my favourite films. It's visually stunning (like all Tim Burton films) and ... delicious. I just want to eat it up. Love the music too, so exciting. Such a huge beating heart in it too.
Miranda is fabulous. I love how she portrays a 'villain' still with such reality, and just a touch of Hammer horror. This must be the reason that i sympathise with theis woman doing such dispicible things! She is very human, but still works the style of the film so well. Also love that dark sexuality she uses.
Johnny Depp too...what an amazing Ichabod. He's a genius.

Yep, Johnny Depp was very good in it too. Must agree there. I'm just obsessed with this movie. This and PoTO have got to be my two favorite Miranda movies. I'm just...stunned by both. And Sleepy Hollow is just...amazing. And I totally feel for LVT. And you are right, she's still very human. I just sympathize with her.

Your parents don't understande your obsession because she is evil?

*sighs* Yes, that would be the reason. It probably is just a shock to them because until I saw Sleepy Hollow, my favorite character was NEVER the villian. But LVT is just such a complex and wonderful character and Miranda portrays her so brilliantly that I just couldn't help but like her.

I first started liking villains with Mab. it made me see that they are way more complex and fascinating than the "good guys". I'm still trying to write something where the bad guy utterly triumphes, but I didn't manage to create a villain interesting enough to deserve it yet.

Yes, I agree, the villians are usually the much more fascinating and complex characters if you look closely. The "good guys" tend to be one dimensional. Katrina is the perfectly example of that and she should die for that reason alone! *chops of the brat's head with an axe and laughs maniacally* MWAHAHAAH
P.S. Forgive my tendency to act crazy and evil towards characters I dont' like. LVT and Erik are both my muses and they tend to influence me greatly.
