Apted to direct 'Narnia' sequel Filmmaker set for Disney, Walden Media film By PETER GILSTRAP
Disney Pictures and Walden Media have tapped Michael Apted to direct "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader," the third installment in the "Narnia" series. Mark Johnson will produce, along with Andrew Adamson, who directed the first two films.
Returning cast members include Ben Barnes, Georgie Henley and Skandar Keynes.
Apted most recently directed soccer doc "The Power of the Game," feature "Amazing Grace" (for Walden Media sister company Bristol Bay Prods.), as well as the first three episodes of HBO's "Rome."
Apted is currently president of the Directors Guild of America and a governor of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.
"The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian," the second in the trio, will be released next year. "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" will lense in January for a release on May 1, 2009.
"The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" performed exceptionally at the box office, with worldwide grosses totaling $738 million.

Awsome! I didn't even know they're making sequels to Narnia. Though it was rather expected that they will. Thank you very much for posting this Avalon.
