I've just watched it on youtube. It's really good in some parts and really bizarre in others. I noticed the person who plays Viviane is the same lady who plays Morticia in the Adams Family movies. That was so weird to not see her being pale white Morticia!

Yup, I've seen Mists of Avalon, although it's been a while. I remember getting really excited, because at one point they used Loreena McKennitt music in the film, and I recognized it immediately. I also remember sharing your "really good in some parts and really bizarre in others" sentiment, too. Ditto to the it being weird to see Anjelica H. with some colour in her face, but it was cool to see her in another film. One of my favourites with her in it would have to be Ever After. I can't get enough of that movie, nor can I count how many times I've watched it over the past decade or so since it came out.

Has anybody read the books? Because (I'm sorry, I know you like the movie) the film is almost shameful compared to the books. Of course it is not possible to transform four books (here in Portugal they are four books, in the original I'm not very sure) in a two-hours movie, but they have done really stupid changes to the story. Apart from that, I do recommend the reading of the books/book, it's one of the most beautiful things I have ever read.

My brother had me watch it years ago, but I don't think I ever liked it. I agree with Sadie though about Ever After. That was a good movie.

I've seen it, mainly because of my love for Merlin, and quite liked it. That made me get the books, and after reading them I must say that the movie really pales in comparison. Read those books, people. I know they have many pages, but boy, are those awesome characterisations and un-cheesy writing.
