Oh my gosh I wish everyone would just shut up and leave it alone! Poor Miranda has to explain it over and over again and the movie made her sick to begin with. People who ask her probably allready know the story as well. Also there are to many news articles and stuff that talk about her, and when they are introducing her they always have to mention it. Its not who she is! Its one aspect of her life that happened a long time ago! Everyone should just drop it!

Who cares why she turned down the role?!!! That is done and over! Just focus on the roles she did take! It is so irritating how they continue to bring that up!!

lol id never even seen or heard of this movie before the newspapers kept throwing it in my face. but yeah miranda has done so many good films its silly to focus on one she didnt even do! Especially when there are cooler questions they could ask... like has anyone ever asked her what she thought of tim burton?

Well I've seen it and it's a great film - hot in places and absolutely disturbing in others. It's about a woman who has an affair with a married man and then becomes obsessive and stalkerish when he tries to break it off. I don't think that on it's own it's 'demonising women', because those things do sometimes happen, but I think it was certainly the wrong choice for Miranda, fresh from 'Dance With a Stranger', and I have far more respect for her choosing not to do it, because it would have been easy for her to move from role to role like that, if she's wanted to go that way. I just wish journalists would get the hell over it and stop beating it to death and being completely unoriginal. It's the same as asking Helen Mirren about taking her clothes off. Everyone does it, it's not interesting, it's not a revelation, do some good journalism and think of original questions to engage your subject with.

Amen. The horse is dead, drop the stick.
It's not even as though there's any kind of recent information in there, it's just a picture and an age-old quote that was probably dragged out of an existing article.
Go find some news to write about, peeps!

I agree! I mean it happened so long ago and she's made so many amazing choices of films to do since then, why can't people just leave it at that? I mean, do they really expect to suddenly get a different answer after 20 years of asking the same question??
