Hmm, well... not at all, yet, unfortunately. It will, though, I promise. The bunny has not gone. It's just being swamped in RL crap. I've had to concede defeat on the dark!Neville fic and maybe even the crossover being done before the end of the month. I'be just suddenly become hideously aware of how close April 5 & 6 are - on the former I have an 800 word journalism project due, and on the later I have a 2500 word media essay AND a 2500 word creative writing project due (and the CW has to be original, of course). So my fic bunnies are all on hold, unforch.

Sounds like fun. And Incapa, thank you, I think I'd have to kill myself if you recommended me that many fics.

I pity you, Rita. Luckily, I hardly ever have to do essays any more- only in History! You can't really do Maths and Computing essays ("Comment on the plotline in integration..." No.) and no-one would do a General Studies one even if our teacher bothered to set one

what does one do in General Studies, anyway? sounds pretty ... general to me. we get loads of essays, though not very long ones (apart from the one we had to do over the past six weeks - 15 pages°!°). we once had to do one for history, it was very interesting, a discussion under the topic "American Dream for everyone?". our teacher will correct it over the easter hols, I'm really curious.

What does one do in General Studies? Well, do you want the theoretical answer or practical answer?
Basically, General Studies is a subject everyone has to do in their first year at 6th form. We supposedly spend one hour a week studying various aspects of...stuff. Mostly moral issues, very basic maths and sciences, some basic computer skills, and some boring art. No student wants to do it, none of the teachers want to teach it (there's no such thing as a General Studies teacher, they're all roped in from other subjects), it's boring like nothing else on Earth is boring, pointless like nothing else on Earth is pointless, and, short of not turning up to the exam or falling asleep partway through it, it is virtually impossible to fail. Most people could probably pass it without attending any lessons.
Now, in theory, we turn up to the lesson, take notes on the various mind-numbing presentations, do the occasional presentation ourself, and learn some General Knowledge.
In practice, we do bugger all. No, that is not strictly true. We play consequences, we read books, we listen to music, and we (or at least, I) look up Queen Mab on wikipedia. We sit at tables with our programmable calculators out for whole lessons, trying to work out the square route of a randomly generated four digit number to 9 decimal places, simply because it is more interesting than General Studies. And that's the people who actually come to lessons. Usually, I believe in working hard in lessons, etc. but when even the teacher hates the subject, there's really not much enthusiasm to work up about it.
Here endeth the rant.

Perhaps it is. Down with the evil obligatory pointless subjects! <brings out portable-angry-mob, complete with torches and pitchforks> All hail Mab instead- a much more pleasant thought. ;D <places portable-angry-mob away again> <stares happily at Mab, as do the portable-angry-mob. Before they leave to destroy General Studies>
