I can't be the only person who's psyched to see this fantastic book turned into a movie. Yes I'm a guy. Yes, I'm older than the general crowd that reads these books but they are amazing. Outside of the amazing kristen stewart I can't say I know too much about the cast-the male lead is cedric from hpogof and one of the sisters was in the film thirteen. Anyways, I just can't wait and hope that the cast and crew did justice to the book.

OMG-the book is amazing you just get sucked in this world it's amazing. Oh and the movie!!!! I stood in line for 4 hours yesterday to get in. Let me tell you it was well worth the wait. For once, Hollywood did not screw us over and stayed very truthful to the book. Everything about it was just amazing I really can't say enough good things.

I have to say that was one of the most disappointing nonsensical books I have ever read. It reads like a horribly cheesy Soap and has a recycled plot on top of that. Think about it, Buffy the Vampire Slayer made an entire sub-plot about it, just to give one example. And the fact that some people call Stephanie Meyer the "new" Anne Rice is simply disgusting. Anne Rice's books treat vampires with practicality and respect. Not to mention her ideas are original and beautifully detailed.
The most recent Twilight book, Breaking Dawn, seemed rushed and hardly had any detail at all, which left the reader unable to paint a picture in their mind about any scene. It was predictable and felt like a poorly written fanfic to say the very least. I honestly did feel like Stephanie Meyer paid a visit to fanfiction.com and used what she read to piece together her most recent addition to the Twilight family. Again, those who compare the birth scene and Bella's pregnancy to Rosemary's Baby is unfair. Such gorgeous film shouldn't be in the same realm of comparison as Twilight.
Coming from someone who did sit through all the four books, Twilight is a messy excuse for a love story that has captured girls solely because it is trendy.

I totally agree that Breaking Dawn was like a badly written fan fic! That is exactly what I said!! It was rushed, and your're right about the detail. The books do have a good story, but it isn't written very well. The first book is the best I think. It was written the best out of all four and I found nothing wrong with it. The books after that start to get a bit sloppy though.

I can agree with you to extent. After reading them all, I have to say that they are written exactly the same, Twilight included. All lack deatil, enthusiasm, and a Soap-watchers style.

I went and saw the movie yesterday. I havn't read the book, but my friend has - she's a fan, but we both thought it sucked. It was such a slow movie and then they tried to squish everything in towards the end, or so it seemed.

That is because Kristin Stewart has no depth or facial expressions other than a blank stare.

I loved Twilight for one reason... ROBERT PATTINSON! Yes, I know I'm a bit of a clichè fangirl, but that's the thing I loved about the film. Oh! And also, vampires facinates me. They have facinated me since I was three and couldn't pronounce a V so vampires became pampires

My mother bought Breaking Dawn for my birthday last year and so I felt obliged to read them all. Of all of them, Eclipse is my favourite because it actually felt like something was HAPPENING!! The books are dreary and over-hyped. And the film is even worse. My birthday is in September; I still haven't managed to finish Breaking Dawn although I already know what happens since my Twilight-obsessed friends couldn't keep their mouths shut.

I love Twilight very much, but I do think the reaction to it is overblown. People say it's like the "new Harry Potter" because its so popular. I have to disagree with that. Harry Potter has more originality than Twilight. I read a ton of vampire books before Twilight even existed so I know Twilight is nothing new. People say it is well-written and that's why it does so well. I think it is well-written for something that resembles fanfiction, but that doesn't put it on the same level with Harry Potter etc. I enjoyed it very much because I'm a teenage girl too so how could I not? But most of my friends reaction over it is ridiculous. If they had read any other books in their life they would realize it's not that incredible.
What I wonder is why the Twilight books more than any other vampire books of the same type gained so much publicity? I guess the same could be said about Harry Potter though. There are wizard books similar to Harry Potter, but they never got a lot of attention from people. Seems like it's all chance and luck.
thought of a good comparison: soccer=harry potter=international popularity football=twilight=american popularity
P.S. I've always thought it makes more sense to call soccer football because you do use your feet the whole time when playing. It doesn't make any sense why we Americans call our football football because you use your hands all the time in the game.

Libi: can I just say I LOVE YOU god i cant stand twilight!!! I read it before the hype even started and i thought it was a light, fun romp and that was all. it is certainly not worth all the attention it has gotten. and every single book reads like a badly written fan fic. having read your merlin fan fic libi, Im certain you could write a story better than stephanie meyer bella is an idiot who has an obsessive boyfriend. there is no plot develpement. the dialouge is stilted. i could goon forever.

Bella is a pure Mary Sue character and I don't like her. Twilight just doesn't do it for me.
