Went on another site today says in cinema's March 2009. I am just like whyyy been waiting ages for this and want to see it so badly. At least give us a trailer, pleaseee. This could be just a different country release date but the old date said august 2008 I think. I keep searching hoping to find new pics or a trailer. Nothing yet but hopefully something soon.

I don't think The Young Victoria was ever going to be released in August 2008, so I wouldn't worry. The film is, after all a very Oscar-baity film, especially with all the names involved (Scorsese, King, Fellowes, not to mention Miranda and the rest of the cast) and so when the film does get released it will most likely be released at the very end of the year in order to be eligible for the Oscars coming up in March. However, the film doesn't actually have a distributor yet and the fact that big US companies are vying for the rights is a very good sign - whichever distributor gets the film will surely promote it as one of the biggest films in their schedule. I think the most we can hope for is for the film to be released around December time this year (if the distributor battle has been concluded) or if not, then between August and December 2009. It's a long wait but it's all done with the sole intent of picking up award buzz (this a big, historical biopic with hefty financial backing after all) so let's hope Miranda is a Best Supporting Actress candidate by the time the film is released. Also, I wouldn't give too much stock to international release dates as in these different countries there are different distributors, although they are obliged to wait for the US version to be released, with a short delay. If March 2009 is listed however, then it is looking good that the film will be released late this year. PS: With regards to the lack of pictures and a trailer, the reason for the hold-up is likewise because of a lack of distributor although traditionally with Oscar-type films, trailers and pictures are released as little as a month or two before the film actually premieres to lengthen the anticipation and heighten the buzz. Hope that's reassured you.
