In real life I'm not often attracted by sexy or hot women, I am attracted by women who can touch me (by their charisma, their vulnerability, or someting else). Yes, I so get you!! This is exactly how I feel. You put it into perfect words! Have you? When? I don't remember! Oh, right, another Helen. *Evil laugh* It was while you were sleeping, my dear mwahahahahaaaaa

I love Helen too! Yes she was playing Bellatrix. Charles II is amazing...what a cast...Rupert Graves, Rufus Sewell, Helen..... I've actually met Helen...she was with Damian Lewis when I went to meet him after a play he was in...she was ever so beautiful... Anyway, back on-topic (breaking my own rules? Never!!)...I think there's some good points being made here on acting. The thing is with Miranda is that she's not CONVENTIONALLY beautiful, unlike the boring, vacuous beauty of CZJ et al. Also, she's a chameleon, so she can look however she wants for a role without making a big song and dance about it. The most ridiculous thing in this day and age is when actresses are applauded for making themselves 'ugly'...ie Charlize in Monster, Nicole in The Hours...I mean, come on???!!! Acting is not a profession of glamour and looking amazing, it's about BECOMING another person. That isn't important in Hollywood circles anymore, which is very sad. It's all about the 'stars'.. That's slightly off the points you're making...but I agree that the best person, looks-wise and acting-wise, should be cast. People come in all shapes and sizes and if acting is meant to reflect reality then we should be seeing all these shapes and sizes. I mean, don't even get me started on Hollyoaks...RAGGGHHHHHH....how is one town full of so many vacant talentless blonde beautiful people? ? xxxxxxx

I do find Miranda sexually attractive, yes, and I have found women attractive in the past...usually when my admiration of them gets to the point that there's nowhere to go but sexual feelings. Do you see what I mean? Or is that weird?! I've only ever been with a man though...but I don't like to box myself in. I like the idea of falling in love with a PERSON, not the sex of a person.
I hope that makes sense!

See, there is a great art to choosing films to be in obviously, and Miranda does it very well. She is in big blockbuster films (HP, SH, Merlin) and people see her and fall in love, then see all her other performances as a result.
I think Johnny Depp and Ewan Mcgregor do that well too.

My first official Miranda movie was The Phantom of the Opera but my real first was Merlin too. Lol, to confusing! When I was 10 years old, I spent one afternoon in my grandparents' home. I didn't have nothing to do so I turn on the TV and for my happiness it was passing a magnificent british miniserie. My grandparent and I passed all afternoon watching that and I completly fell in love with that. But I didn't see the name of the miniserie so I passed years and years watching all the movies about King Arthur that TV showed but I never find Merlin (It never pass again in portuguese TV). So, when I saw The Phantom of the Opera I liked so much Madam Giry that I started to search everything about the wonderful actress who played her and I found Clive's site. And, for my big surprise, I saw the pictures of Merlin and I realized that it's was the miniserie I was looking for years! I was so happy that I order it from UK immediately. Since then, I watch it over and over again! Oh i love it when that happens!! It's like it was meant to be ;D xxxxxxxx

Malin...What are your opinions on French movies? I love them....my fave French actresses are Isabelle Huppert, Vanessa Paradis, Marian Cotillard and Emmanuelle Beart.
Especially Isabelle, she rocks my world. I've always considered her the 'French Miranda'!!
Agree too about Spider...I was amazed both at the film and at Miranda's performances.

Latex mask? I reckon it's just shiny glittery stuff...and she really doesn't move her face a lot does she?? But then she said she wanted that to be the case for Mab...she wanted the voice to seem to come from everywhere and nowhere...
*fangirl moment*
Beani yeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!

Hahah is it worrying that we all came to her because she is a scary killer/witch type person?!! Perhaps it because she portrays strong women...and some just happen to chop heads off
