Well here it goes, my first fic. I hope everyone likes it. If not, you are welcome to stone me on the MSN.
It is sort of a series, not because I want to keep you all in anticipation… Ah who am I kidding? Of course I do But also because it is going to be too long for one post… Methinks…
I want to say a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge thank you very much to Tosca for being my beta *huge huggle*
I am not sure yet as to what the rating of the fic will be but I suppose it will be nothing less then PG 13

Devil's Bargain
Part 1
As if an angry mob of fanatic Christian peasants with torches was chasing him, Frik ran down the corridor leading to Mab's chamber of crystals. In the center of the chamber, Mab was standing with her eyes closed, in a deep trance-like state, trying to enchant the crystal she held in her hands before her.
"Madam!" Frik cried out in panic as he stumbled in, breathless. He held his hand on his chest, trying to catch his breath before he said another word.
Frik's sudden interruption caused Mab to lose her concentration and the crystal shattered in her hands. She gazed down at the crystal shards, then gave Frik a furious stare. The gnome, realizing his mistress was enraged now, took a few steps back, though he knew it would not save him. She made a slight gesture with her head, tossing the gnome at the cave wall with her magic. He made no sound as he hit the wall and slid down to the floor.
"You fool!" she snapped, her fists clenched at her sides. "Do you have any idea what your little intrusion just cost me?!" Her angry breaths echoed in the chamber and she looked and sounded as if she was about to breath fire at any moment.
"Y…Y… Your Majesty, I am sorry, b… but…" the gnome stuttered on the floor.
"But, what?!" she hissed, taking a threatening half a step towards him. The rage was boiling in her. She had spent immense time and energy on that spell. And now, thanks to Frik, all her efforts were in vain, leaving her weaker then she was and dissatisfied. Her thoughts twirled as she tried to decide what she should do to the gnome.
"We have an intruder, Madam." Frik hurled the words, realizing he must give his mistress a good reason for his obstruction of her work, before she turned him into some inanimate object or another. He tried to rise on his feet and failed miserably. Then he desperately tried again and failed again. Eventually he gave up and decided to remain on the floor.
"What are you talking about?" Mab demanded, suspecting it was just a trick to make her forget all about Frik’s incompetence to follow a simple order such as 'Don't interrupt me while I am in the chamber'.
"There is someone in the library." Frik said, still in panic.
"Are you trying to play me for a fool?!" Mab snapped. She raised her hand, pointing at herself. "Don't you think I would have sensed if there was an intruder in MY kingdom, MY palace?!"
"But I can honestly swear, Madam, that I have seen him." Frik said desperately. He made one last failing attempt to stand up.
Mab sighed angrily "Tell me what you saw!" She commanded.
"Well I was cleaning about the library when I saw this man just sitting there; he just appeared out of the blue. Well of course I demanded immediately to know who he was but he did not reply, just rose on his feet with this huge sword at hand and charged at me. I got so startled that… well… I ran away." He admitted shamefully at the end.
Mab listened carefully to Frik's words trying to make some sense out of his babbling. She rolled her eyes at his last words and disappeared in a flash of light, reappearing in the library looking around intensely, her eyes are searching for the intruder.
