Also! The cover song IS "Poison" by Alice Cooper! *insanely happy* It's such a cool and amazing song, I'm really looking forwards to hearing her version. *deep breath* *another deep breath* *tries desperately to hold in the fangirl* *fails* OMGSQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!! I love "Poison"- I have to say, I didn't ever really think it would be "Poison", and I'm so glad I was wrong ;D *applauds Tarja for her taste in music* I have to say, I'm intrigued as to how this will turn out. It has the potential to either be really great (great song, great singer), or really awful (Smells Like Teen Spirit, anyone?). Alice Cooper's voice is dramatically different to Tarja's, obviously, and the song isn't really similar to any she's done before- yeah, Nightwish was metal, but they were always more symphonic. From what she's written so far, it'll turn out good- in all fairness, I think the main problem with aforementioned disastrous cover is that it seems so totally out of place with Tarja singing it at a fashion show, smiling brightly, accompanied by a piano, or whatever. It sounded a bit... off... With "Poison", though, I'd say the statistics are in our favour- someone's already recorded a shite cover version of "Poison", it's time we had a good one. Anyway, I'm looking forward to hearing it, not to mention these other two songs from her album- could be any day soon *does happy dance*

Yay, I suspected that one. I'm just glad it isn't a Guns and Roses song...that would have been weird.

Yeah, if Tarja drank a dozen bottles of whiskey beforehand and ended up sounding like Janis Joplin, she couldn't do worse than that. Er, for the record, I love Janis. That sounded a bit harsh. ^^

The new blog is up on www.mywinterstorm.comYou'll need a new password to access it- if you were a member of the blog it should be sent to you automatically, othwise you need to register. I've just opened it myself, but there's info about the tracklist of the single, you can watch the video and hear another version of IWA, download the two songs and the blog is still there- enjoy! EDIT: *is listening to The Reign as we speak* Lovely song, but prepare for a large amount of voiceovers- Tarja talks a lot about the song.

Right, firstly, fangirly squeeing over the songs-The Reign is a ballad, beautifully sung, and Ciaran's Well is a heavier song, much heavier than I expected, actually- and secondly, here are the lyrics to them, and the names of the people who wrote the songs:
Ciaran's Well written by Alex Scholpp, Doug Wimbish, Michelle Leonard, Tarja Turunen
Misty cold nights You’ll hear her sigh And sing bitter sweet lullabies
For years she prayed The saints would cast a spell for the forest to let her go
She sings… She dreams… She prays…
She sings… she plays... she stays...
Ahh Ahhhh Ahh Ahhhh
The black old well Holds ancient tales And makes all wishes come true So throw your dream Into the dark And Blue will come for you
The Reign Written by Adrian Zagoritis, Torsten Stenzel, Angela Heldmann, Tarja Turunen
I see the waves of sand Big free Another land Dreams within dreams You are alive They gave me their wings I spread them wide
I'll move on to another place from my memories unmade I'll hold on and my heart will find you there love will shine free Forever
Sun flames And moons glow Timeless the tides will flow What will I face what will be mine Fortune and fate The other side

*sigh* I agree, 'The Reign' is absolutely beautiful. Wheras Ciaran' Well... she kinda succeeded when she said she wanted it to be a bit crazy, no? *darts off to listen for the 100th or so time with much fangirlish squeeing*

I was surprised when I first heard Ciaran's Well...I guess the guitars were a shock, a pleasant shock. The Reign is especially nice to me because we get to hear her voice. I wish we could hear it all without her blabbering on though lol.

They're bot so cool! I had thought, though, when I first saw the titles that Ciaran's Well was going to be more of a ballad-like song. (I saw the title, thought it sounded Irish, and did some research. I am in no way a geek for Irish history ballads. Nope...)
