E-bay is gthe best place to find all things Miranda..........I bought my Region-free DVD player on e-bay..........I did almost all of my Christmas shopping on e-bay last year..........and the best thing of all is that you don't have to leave your home, and be amidst rude and moronic people during the hectic holidays........I don't like crowds.........well, I don't like to be among them.......I need space........if you know what I mean.....too many people freak me out......hehehe......yet I still want to be a politician, hehehe........thank God for television...... ;D

Ha ha, I do know what you mean about crowds...they throw me into anxietous frenzies where I feel like I'm either going to 1) die 2) not be able to breathe and 3) as if the people are crowding into me and I can't get away and then I start freaking out TOTALLY. It's like claustrophobia only with people.
But back to Merlin...I see what you mean Solitas! I get increasingly enraged at Merlin each time I watch the movie. I even called him an f-d up man and my dad looked at me like I was yelling crazy stuff disproportionate to the movie. And I got into a fight with my mom over Mab when she said: "How can she be so mean to Merlin!" I ended up screaming about how weak he was and how it wasn't her job to save Ambrosia and his mother, that they weren't fighting her war, and how great he could have been if he just would've embraced magic and not fought her. I don't understand this Merlin...I prefer the Merlin who fights with the Lady of the Lake to save the old ways and mourns the death of them. I also am not seeing how Mab is evil! And it could be because I'm just weird and have always romanticized the warrior code and bemoaned the fact that I wasn't born a warrior woman in a different age, but seriously Mab is so strong and brilliant and not nearly as petty as either the f-ing Christian god (I mean God) of the old testament or the greek/roman gods! In fact, she's not really petty at all. Ok, rant over.

;D Being a Christian aside, I prefer the book The Last Enchantment to the movie Merlin, because Merlin is not at war with Mab.......and it's more of a historical fiction, but with magic too......And it's not God's fault that some of his followers are petty people........there are petty people all over the world, and in every religion.......sorry, just had to stick up for the Christian side........Have any of you looked at IMBD lately?? Miranda's supposed to be in a tv movie called Merlin's Apprentice...........I do HOPE it comes on where I live........it's supposed to be a prequel to the movie......I haven't a clue as to when it will premier on tv......and perhpas I'm the last one to find out about this, but I think it will be excellent......Miranda is set to play the Lady of the Lake again, hehehe......excellent choice, methinks!!!......Check out IMBD, and let me know what you all think!!!

However, what I said is that the Christian God is petty, so whether or not his followers are as well, is an entirely different line of discussion. And yeah, I hope they give Miranda's character some more substance, like physical substance, in the sequel! Now, I'll have something else to look forward to seeing!

Well, woah. I just read those seven pages in one sitting...now THIS is a bloody good topic!!! I had things to say but i keep forgetting them with other things to say, so it's all very confusing at this time of night for me Thanks for the essay, and the poem and the snippets of info guys....it is wonderful to know the true Mab. I think Merlin is not a classically 'good' film but i damn well enjoy it and find it an entertaining romp. I think it would be wonderful if they made not 'Merlin's Apprentice' but a spin off to do with Mab, the real Mab. After all, if she is not in MA, it will crash and burn. She was the only reason the film was above average in my opinion. Hope you're feeliong better soon my Kem babe xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

now that you speak of it ... vortigan and mab were the only characters I really enjoyed ... the other stuff was mainly 'let's force christianity upon unwilling people and stamp their gods while we're at it. oh, and we could get rid of that king who's not rightly on the throne and pretend that that were an exception these days'. Poooey!

Yes - sorry everybody......I haven't been around for a while. Had a bit on my plate so to speak. Today it was confirmed - my son Alan has muscular dystrophy. Aged 8 - 12 he will start to lose the use of his legs, then his arms........Not expected to live much beyond the age of 20. Still, when you think what of what happened to people in London, New York etc..........best to make the most of everyday. Better shut up and get on with it.............

Kemmellie, You best watch what you write. You may offend someone. calling one's god petty isn't very friendly, and I don't think it's necessary to be insulting on this web page. It's obvious that if you think a god is petty, his followers will be also, as they strive to meet his standards. Being a Christian, like Christina-(back me up, girl)- I am sorry that much of the world is beginning to take your approach to Christianity, and I hope that the world gains a better understanding of true Christianity, because right now most are only getting a modified version from Christians who are succumbing to peer and political pressure, ignoring the true doctrine of the faith.

Hmm, I haven't noticed that much of the world shares my opinion, but I do stand by what I said in the original post...the god of the old testament is very petty, however the god of the second one, what do you call it...new testament is fine, as is Jesus. Thus, it's kind of non sequiter that his followers would be petty, especially since I find the Jews very unpetty. Didn't mean to be unfriendly, but Mab seems so much warmer than the old Christian god though I do enjoy the parts of the old testament I've read, couldn't finish b/c I got sidetracked and bored with the long list of geneologies, and I enjoy several poetic parts that are much better written in the new testament.
Hmmm...did you edit out the part about my ignorance? Shoulda left it in...I very much enjoyed that bit!!!!
As for Mick, so sorry to hear about Alan. Of course it is best to make the most of everyday, but getting past things can be easier thought or said than done so don't feel you need to shut up about it!

Kem, I'm a Christian and i know what you mean about the pettiness in the Old Testament...I have often thought that myself in fact, and thought that most of the Old Testament is stories and not in fact God being petty truly...does that make sense?

I think the very first christians were in fact very cool people and not petty in the least, but let's face it; christianity is losing its touch. I have nothing against God, I suppose he's a nice guy, but I think my way of thinking of Him is a bit pagan; all those gods are simply one god with nothing but different names. did any of you guys ever read "Nathan the Wise"? there's one part in it that says something like that: no one knows which god is the true one.
