SUSAN SARANDON & ANJELICA HUSTON UMA THURMAN " Henry & June" I treasure that movie, ...the 3 of them royalty pure royalty!
-But most certainly "the Redgraves"...Vanessa Is huge,I was named after her,*_* daughter of art, like her sister Lynn.
Brits Actresses are the greatest.
I did love her DAUGHTER NATASHA in the " white countess" & Asylum,Joely Richardson is bloody talented but still need a huge break trough role in movies, THERE IS A GOOD ONE " LIES MY MOTHER TOLD ME" it was for television though.
For Vanessa:CAMELOT, ISADORA,A Rumour of Angels (TOUCHING INDEED) but recently THE FEVER A was a huge experience to watch for me,some think is dull or a sort of documentary I guess the film reflects in a very realistic way, the inner Vanessa.
Aussie Cate Blanchett 's got as quality, a glow ,a gift, like her film..anything she touches turns into gold. "Charlotte Gray was a great movie,The Gift,I do agree, like it loads, The missing,The Golden Age,Notes on a Scandal or little fish, being a small movie indie stuff was such a little jewel...Blanchett is a chameleon.
"Gosford park " was a masterpiece, Kristin Scott Thomas now living in France is nominated for the Golden Globes I guess "Il y a longtemps que je t'aime" is the film, quite interesting the plot. "Man to Man" is a great movie to watch with Scott Thomas.
I do love french marvelous actress Isabelle Huppert above all. Madame Bovary, directed by Claude Chabrol, " L' Ivresse du pouvoir " or Merci pour le chocolat, La Cérémonie, Une affaire de femmes, ARE MUST HAVE MOVIES TO KNOW HER CAREER COMPLETELY...among so many others...
NIP/TUCK gave JOELY SUCH POPULARITY IN THE STATES , incredible by the way she is so loved...I must agree.

Okay, other actressess... I'm sure I'll end up forgetting loads of them, but these are some of the top ones that come immediately to mind. 1) Helena Bonham Carter (I think I like her best in Hamlet, The Revengers' Comedies, Dancing Queen, and Women Talking Dirty. And HP and Sweeney Todd... Oof. So much for narrowing it down. ) 2) Jennifer Jason Leigh (My favourites being Georgia, Washington Square, and The Hudsucker Proxy) 3) Neve Campbell (especially in I Really Hate My Job) 4) Emily Mortimer (Dear Frankie, Bright Young Things, Lovely and Amazing) 5) Kate Winslet (I was so excited that she FINALLY got her Oscar. ;D) 6) Emily Watson (I totally have to agree with the above sentiment - Emily is amazing.) I'd also like to make a point of mentioning Valerie Edmond. She was great in The Crow Road, but my favourite role of hers was as Sarah in One More Kiss. Her crying scene in that film was so raw, genuine, and PHENOMENAL. I've never seen anything like it. I consider it second only to Miranda's breakdown in Damage. You know, in looking at my list, I find it interesting to note that most of my other faves have been in a film with Manda at some point. Heh. Yeah, my film world doesn't revolve around her at all...

I agree that Helena Bonham Carter and Emily Watson are really good actresses. I love them both!!!! Espescially Helena! I also agree it is cool that Tim Burton and Helena live together, that really is the coolest pair ever! They are both so awsome! Another one of my top favorites is Maggie Smith, I think she is amazing!

HBC rocks!!! i like maggie smith but im all worried coz in a room with a view interview HBC said one of the two older actresses was mean to her or sumthing coz she was more inexperienced then them and it has to be either judy dench or maggie smith that she was talking about

I think it would have been Judy, I don't know, she's a good actress but she strikes me as someone with a short temper and a head for gossip.

Judi Dench, a short temper? Oh hell no. Seriously, she is the sweetest, most gracious woman ever. If anything, I'd say she'd be more likely to be a bit of a pushover. The way she smiled and let people take photos and signed things - even things that were obviously going to be sold on ebay by one guy - while being so obviously exhausted, when I met her, didn't look at all like a woman with a temper. Nor does her biography suggest anything of the sort. I could be wrong, of course, but nothing I've ever read or seen about her has suggested someone with a short temper. What gives you the impression that she is?
Not saying it was Maggie - not at all. I think it's far more likely that someone made an offhand comment to HBC which she interpreted as 'mean', or maybe that she made an offhand comment to a journalist who decided to interpret it that way.

Nothing at all, just a first impression, I guess. I didn't mean at all that she was definately that sort of person. Ignore me haha *looks sheepish*
