Here's another! Miranda Richardson, actor I love seeing how other people live. I think I'm like a big sponge. I take ideas and I think, "How would that work in my life? Is that a good idea, or is it just pretentious?" I'm a sucker for the mags as well. I love to get the interiors magazines and look into some Hollywood home or other. It's usually deeply disappointing because they've had somebody else do it for them, so it doesn't reflect their personality at all. When I go into a place I do look at the books but I also look at their pictures and I'm likely to look at chairs. They don't have to be practical; they can just be objects of beauty. I view finding a new home as a way of moving on. There's something defined and rather sexy about it. You're saying: "I'm allowed this, I can do this, I can spread myself here and I'm grown up. I can have my books and my music around me and they are in an ordered fashion - they're not on a couple of bricks and a plank. I can move between rooms; I can cook dinner for my friends." It feels like a civilised life and anything might happen. I once went to a party in an amazing house on Long Island. There were flunkies serving white wine or champagne, neither of which I wanted. So I went into the enormous kitchen, which was doubling as a bar. I said, "Could I have a glass of red wine please?" "Oh I'm sorry Ma'am," they said. "We're not serving red wine - because of the house." I was appalled.

If she ever came to my house, I would make sure I had a lot of red wine Wouldn't want her to be appalled at me

If she came to my house, she'd have white wine or go thirsty! I know she's Miranda Richardson, but I hate red wine!

Lol I hate white wine and never drank red wine before but I would definitely drink it if Manda came to my house. Though, I'm sure she would prefer to have the bottle all to herself
