I wrote to her after the Wah Wah permiere, and sent along the box of chocolates that I hadn't had the chance to give her.
Honestly, when you send an actress mail you have to remember that it does go through an agent, so it could take a long time for them to get it, if they get it at all. I've written fanmail a few times and I've only ever had replies from authors, usually by email but once by snail mail.
If the letter required something beyond the generic sending of a signed picture, I wouldn't count on a reply. After all, I don't think I'd have any idea what to say to someone who sent me a lot of fangirly praise, except maybe 'thankyou!'. That's generally the only way I know of replying to people who leave me positive feedback for fanfic, which is my only experience in a similar situation. And when it's a fan letter and you get lots of them, trying to think of what to say in response to them all would be virtually impossible. When/if she gets them and reads them, though, I wouldn't doubt that they make her smile.

Oh yeah, the agents.. : | My letter was very long and when I think about it,I don't even remember exactly what I wrote. But I explained that I would be very very happy for a reply, not a whole letter maybe but only a signed photo,if she had time.
