Though still waiting desperately for a characterisation of Queen Mary, I decided to start the story anyway. This is only the first part of it, loads more to come: Worlds collided
Alike but different
Miranda Richardson stood in front of her bathroom mirror, brushed her teeth and thought at nothing in special. Humming softly, she went through her morning routine, checked on her cats and left the apartment.
The moment the door closed behind her, a strange sound came out of the bathroom. Out of curiosity, one of the cats got up to investigate the source of the noise. It turned out that the rattling sound came out of the shower, alongside with a strange, yellow light.
All of a sudden, the light turned into a blinding, white flash that left behind nothing but silence. This silence, however, did not last long.
“Now see where you’ve brought us!”, a strange voice hissed. This voice was like nothing the little cat had ever heard. It seemed to be female, but still there had never been a sound that was less human.
”Where I have brought us?” This was a sound the cat recognised. It heard that sound every time its mistress took a bath or even simply washed her hands. It was the sound of water. “Where I have brought us? Think again, sister, and consider carefully before you accuse others.” “I can accuse whoever I want, and it was your fault that that we are where we are. Where are we, actually?” The woman with the voice of water laughed airily. “Well, as you, o all-knowing Queen of the Old Ways, don’t know it, I suggest we take a peek.” The other woman hissed. “Don’t you dare to be clever with me, sister. Had you not been so stubborn, we would never have been forgotten, and we would therefor not be here. No, wait. Stubborn is wrong. You were weak. Tell me, sister, has there ever been a time when you have not been weak and have not sought the easiest way out?” “Could we please postpone this fundamental discussion to a more convenient time? Preferably when we are not cramped into a tiny room without a clue of where we are?” Instead of an answer, the shower curtain was briskly pulled back, revealing two women who – though showing strong resemblance to one another – could not possibly be more different. One was dark, with long, black hair, clad in shining black robes, covered in gems, her face of incredible beauty; but it seemed like a mask, her features were hard, inhuman, merciless. The other one was bright, bright and soft, almost floating. She was clad in a material so soft and shining that it was impossible to tell what it was. Her face, that so strangely resembled the face of the other woman, was soft and friendly. But now, those features that were both alike and different bore the same expression: complete disbelief.
“Where in the name of everything that ever lived are we?”

Have you ever tried to let someone come into an apartment without describing it? Really tough, I can tell you!
Strange Rooms
While they had a closer look at the place they had fallen into, Mab did not forget to send her sister accusing glances. The Lady of the Lake, however, pretended not to notice them while she worked on a strange silver thing. She jumped back with a soft cry of surprise when water shot out of it. Rolling her eyes, Mab turned towards the door that was ajar, and where she saw a small cat that gazed at her in astonishment. She opened the door further and looked upon another room that was almost as strange as the one she was standing in.
She cast one last look at her sister, who was now closely examining the water-thing, before she stepped out into the other room. It was bright with big windows, and there were several more doors. Mab decided to have a close look at this room before she checked on the others.
While she looked at a (remarkably lifelike) picture of several people – one of them, a blonde woman, seeming strangely familiar – her sister came out of the water-room. “Did you find anything that might tell us something about where we are?” Mab shook her head, still looking at the picture. “I have no idea. Nor do I know how we got here or how we will get back.” Her sister looked around the room, seeming awkwardly lost. “Do you think someone is living here?” “Certainly. Look at this place. Whoever is living here can’t be gone for long.” “Fine. We will wait, then.” Her sister walked (or rather glided. Mab had never noticed this weird gliding way of moving her sister had) towards one of the obstacles standing in the room and sat down.
After some hesitation, Mab shrugged and took seat opposite her sister. For a long time, everyone was silent: Mab, lost in her dark, brooding thoughts; her sister, whose gaze was floating through the room like waves; even the two cats simply watched the strange intruders. Finally, the Lady’s eyes came to rest upon the face of her sister, who tried her best to ignore her. When after some time of intense staring there still was no reaction, she opened her mouth. But as the first word was about to leave her lips, a rattling noise came out of the room she and Mab had first appeared in.
Her sister gave her a warning glance and made gestures suggesting that she should be quiet and follow. Looking through the door, they caught a glimpse of fading white light, and out of the tiny space they had fallen into stumbled a brown-haired woman with a gentle, open face who strongly reminded the Lady of someone familiar when the woman saw the Lady and her sister, her mouth fell open.
“Bloody hell, what happened? And who in the name of God are you?”

Oh, I like this one too. Especially your descriptions of the Lady of the Lake "whose gaze was floating through the room like waves." That was a nice bit of detail there! Keep going Incapa!!!
