Hey guys, I'm planning a new fanfic with loads of Miranda characters. The basic idea is very simple: What happens if a bunch of Miranda-characters falls into a black hole or whatever and comes out in the flat of Miranda (Am I allowed to use her if I only want her to leave her flat in the morning?)
The thing is that you guys ave seen much more Miranda movies than I have, and I could use some help finding characters.
So far I've seen: Merlin, St. Ives, Dance with a Stranger, Sleepy Hollow, POTO, Get Carter, Spider, Big Brass Ring, Chamberpot of Azerbaijan, Snow White, The Apostle (though I could use a reminder), Damage, Kansas City (last 30 minutes, that is), Alice in Wonderland, Fatherland, The Evening Star, The Crying Game, Empire of the Sun and most of her Blackadder characters (except for the first episode).
If you can think of another character that would do nicely in such a fic, please post the content of the film (with focus on the Miranda-character of course) and a short characterization of the Miranda character. Thanks for your help!

You should totally do that Incapa! ;D One of my friends said that I should do a Sleepy Hollow/POTO crossover. I have an idea for it, so do you think I should do it?

Yes Mel go for it!! I can't wait!!
Incapa, there is The Prince and Me and the The Lost Prince which have two more queens if you care to make it a royal affair.
Have you seen Tom and Viv? I think that Viv in a conversation with Dinah from Big Brass Ring could be interesting because they were both big factors behind their husbands' work.
I can't wait!!

I second Vivie and Dinah Pellarin! That would be an interesting conversation. It would be great to have Viv going off like at the dinner party with Virginia Woolf and Dinah passing out from too much alcohol like at that dinner party scene. Come to think about it, I'm liking the parallels even more and also the differences...in the power struggles, relationships, etc. It kind of reminds me of Swann.

Fab idea Incapa...can i add Pamela Flitton to the mix?...she's be just as embarrassing in a dinner party situation, and has a very erm, interesting relationship with her husband which would be interesting to see her talking to Vivvie with all her faithfulness about.

Ahh, fabby suggestions, guys. Thing is, I'd need a few movie-sum-ups and a few characterisations, preferably of Viv, Pamela Flitton, Virginia Woolf (did Miranda really play her?) and the two queens ('prince and me' and 'lost prince') cos I didn't see those films. Oh, and a Caroline Stilton characterisation would be fabby cos I only saw the last 30 mintues of that movie. Thanks for your help, guys!
And Mel, I totally think you should go for that crossover, sounds really cool. And did you hear Solitas has formed a yahoo-group for Miranda-fanfiction? I'll post the link some time soon!

How to sum up my alter ego, or alias, with ***movie spoilers***. Well, she's brilliant and strong and wonderfully outspoken. Some might think crazy, as those who pissed me off on imdb reviews, so I wrote one, it might be worthwile to check it out in Tom and Viv reviews section. I tend to lean more towards the hormonal imbalance reading, along with she lived in the wrong decades because she simply was not willing to go along with polite society and the "place" of women in it. The movie suggests that she possibly wrote or at least her words inspired T.S. Eliot's poetry, and she began to want some recognition for that. At the dinner party at Virginia Woolf's house (sorry Randi doesn't play her), she even says, "They all love Tom for his mind, but I AM his mind." To which, he is not pleased. Anyway, neither is really happy in the marriage, but they claim to love each other. She remains faithful to him no matter what he does to her (i.e. locking her up and never speaking to her again, not helping her answer a stupid math problem thus allowing her to be locked up, being in charge of all of her money, etc.) and he claims that she is always with him.
Wait, this is supposed to be character summary, I really suck at this....Viv does whatever pops into her head like pouring melted chocolate through the mail slot of the bank or threatening Virginia Woolf with a toy knife. I believe that she is justified for doing these things, she's kind of like Plato/Socrates' idea of the "gadfly." She didn't want to be "conventional" but Tom did. She liked to say things as they were, not what people wanted to hear. Yeah, this is going nowhere. Hope you are able to get SOMETHING from that.

LOL. Can't resist puppy dog eyes. Erhm...Queen Rosalind from The Prince and Me is beautiful. She's got gorgeous blonde hair, and she's very outspoken but the ailing king always has final say. She and her son don't really see eye to eye since he's a playboy who "embarrasses" the family name. She didn't approve of Julia Stiles at first (who can really blame her) but came around since Stiles turned her son "from a boy into a man," ready to take on the responsibilities of being king. She's not in much, but she looks amazing when she is, which does sound rather superficial, but she's only in a few scenes. There's the famous "Being royal is not like being rich or famous, it is something much much more, it is a way of being, that can only be learned from birth..." speech I love the "racy women" pic too.

Incapa, a link for that fanfiction group would be wonderful! ;D
And I'll work on the crossover and Stepsister ASAP. I think I'm going to delete my other ones though (my POTO one and my other Sleepy Hollow one) because not that many people really read those anyways.

Ok, here i am, stuck upstairs with workmen doing our drains so it is the perfect time methinks to do Pamela's character for you!
Pamela is not an easy character to describe...she says what is on her mind, no matter how hurtful, she treats people (especially her husband Widmerpool) like dirt, she snaps at people. However she is also a rather enchanting character, beautiful and mysterious. There is obviously deep rooted trauma in her character that has made her the way she is.
The way Miranda plays her is fascinatingly weird...if you look at my avatar it will give you an impression of how weird! It works perfectly though, and is one of my favourite Miranda performances.
***************SPOILERS********************
Erm....storyline wise...she marries Widmerpool (who is also rather a tragic character...teased at school, rather large, geeky, that sort of thing) treats him with utter contampt, as she does everyone else...she obviously despises him. We find out later she has been sleeping with some political guy and Widmerpool watches...she finds this out and announces it in public and Widmerpool, who is high in politics, is more than a little humiliated.
God, it's so much more complicated than this, i'm making it sound rather simple...her character is a puzzle in itself so it's very hard to describe.
She leaves Widmerpool for a stretch of time then takes up with an eccentric writer, she then throws his almost completed novel in the river and goes back to Widmerpool. This writer then dies of a heart attack (his name is X by the way)
A young American writer comes to find Pam as he is writing the life story of X...she gets rather friendly with the writer and ahem...grabs his balls in a church (a famous church, can't remember the name of it i'm ashamed to say)
The political guy ends up dying while she's having sex with him, which is obviously a little awkward for Widmerpool's reputation.
Pamela eventually goes a little mad and kills herself, lying naked with flowers and leaves all over her.
Sorry that was such a bad summary!!!
