Oooh, can I come to this island too? I wouldn't be a distraction, I'd just sit there dribbling and incoherent watching Mab...
And the fic is great! Can't wait for the next part.

Well, that also solves Incapa's problem about the lack of Mirandaites. *looks cunning*

Well, I must say that the threat/offer of a lonely island coming with a bikini-clad Mab and Mirandaites is utterly inspiring. I hope you enjoy!
-----
Minerva was having quite a colourful internal conversation with herself while she warily approached Mab; first cursing the Order members in alphabetical order for shoving her into this situation, then, as she got closer, repeating all the arguments they usually used in normal recruiting. She quickly dismissed them. Any thought of normality, as far as this woman was concerned, was laughable and nothing else.
So, a pep-talk, perhaps? She was, after all, Headmistress of Hogwarts, one of the leading members of the Order of the Phoenix, and, if she might say so, not completely dumb. She would emerge from this conversation victorious, she would win the Order a powerful new member, she would –
“Well?”
She would look down to find that she had been standing next to Mab for several minutes now, apparently, who was looking at her with an amused expression that was drifting dangerously close to ‘impatient’.
“Was there any purpose to you standing here and muttering to yourself?” One of those unnaturally dark, black eyebrows arched upwards to accentuate the question. “It’s just that usually, that part is reserved to the black-haired boy with the scar and the glasses.”
Mab returned her eyes to the book she was reading, clearly finding that this conversation was not going to be on a level that would require her full attention.
Minerva was dumbfounded for a second.
“You have been talking to Potter?”, she asked, perhaps sharper than was advisable.
“That’s not quite what I would call it, I fear. But one can’t help noticing him when he insists on roaming the castle on his own, mumbling like a lunatic, can one?”
At this, Minerva no longer cared how much they wanted Mab to join the Order, or what would happen to her if she angered the woman.
“Do not”, she hissed, bending down and bringing her face closer to Mab’s, “Do not call this boy a lunatic. You have no idea what he’s been through, and if you had, you still couldn’t imagine. Don’t you dare judge him!”
“Ah, of course. The tragic hero, is he?” The furious blaze in Mab’s eyes made Minerva tumble backwards, and too late she realised that losing one’s temper was very very inadvisable when dealing with Mab. “The Boy who fought and didn’t win? But no, hush, don’t call the child by its name! We are, after all, dealing with a hero.” She spat the last word with so much disgust that it seemed to linger in the air and mock Minerva, mock her for believing in anything as pathetic as heroes or champions or wars for the sake of all that was good.
She swallowed, and it cost her all the willpower she could muster not to turn on her heels and run, but once she’d regained her composure, she straightened her shoulders and sat down next to Mab, now taking her turn in ignoring her surprised face, and decided that it was all or nothing.
“We are indeed dealing with a hero, and we want you to help us make him win.”
