Are there any movies you would of not seen, had Miranda Richardson not had a role in it? Or a film you would of seen, but wouldn't have liked if she'd not had a role? My father thinks it's weird of me to want to see a film solely because of the actor that plays in it.

Most of Miranda's movies I watch simply for her lol. She tends to do more obscure movies and not the big mainstream ones.

my only reason is Miranda, but if she is involved in a great production that s even better fo me :a movie lover. anyway she is brilliant.
but I tend to watch her scenes mainly, later the whole movie.First I do enjoy the creative process ,the way she connects with the character, observe her,a remarkable actress indeed.
dear miranda fan ask your father why he follows an specific sports team or any hobbie he s got is just the same with your passion for arts or an specific actor/actress!!

You make a good point. next time I get the chance to speak with him, I shall bring that up! He was never very interested in the actors playing in films, and though he does like a lot of Miranda's work (He's the one that showed me both Blackadder and the Crying Game), he still doesn't know who she is when I bring her up. lol

When I first saw that Get Carter was on tv it was on at 4 AM, so I stayed up (which if you're trying to stay up can be difficult) and after watching 10 minutes my brother came downstairs and kicked me out. So, I stayed up for nothing, but I saw it another time and thought it sucked lol and yes, she was hardly in it.

I don't think it's weird at all.
Mind you, this is the girl setting her alarm clock for 3 am so she can watch Damage. Again.

I'm normally careful about which movies of hers I'll buy (save for MA), though I'll make sure to watch as many as I can get my hands on. I rented Get Carter and after trying to sit through the entire film and failing to(I don't like action films much anyway) I watched only Miranda's scenes. The only bad thing about that is I wonder if I missed any of them while I flipped about the scenes. I did the same with a couple of others too. I wish there was some way to know which films are better for rent and which are good for the purchse far as Miranda's extent is concerned.

I sat up til 1.30am to watch The Designated Mourner because she was in it. I fell asleep after 20 minutes though. I only watched The Hours because she was in it (well, for all of 10 minutes!).

I already owned The Hours (because i'm also a fan of Streep, Moore, and Kidman) Miranda make the film that much the better for me. I also loved the story itself. Is Desiganted Mouner any good? The story sounds different from what I've read about it, and I like different.

Hmmm, I probably wouldn't have watched some of her more unknown films had she not been in them, simply because I probably wouldn't have heard about them. "Century", for example.

It seems to be a film that you really have to concentrate on all the way through. I wish I'd recorded it, since it looked quite good. I watched it until about 2am, and at 2am, I'm not fit for concentrating on anything, even Miranda!

I'm unhealthy in my interests. If I knew Miranda was going to by on anything, no matter what, I'd do anything to see it, and I'd be wide awake to see it too. Excitment...it comes so easy to me these days lol. Once there was soemthing on TV at like four am, I don't recall what now, and I set my alarm so I could sleep till it came on. But I couldn't sleep, so I was real tired the next day, but wide awake for the program. Then, not a long time ago, I stayed up to see Tom and Viv....and the channel was out! I'm still not over that, cause I can't find that film anywhere!

It's also a pain when one of her films is on and I don't have the channel. It happened when Dance With a Stranger was on some cable channel. I didn't have the channel, but the very next week, the service got upgraded to include that channel. Talk about bad timing!

We didn't have Showtime for the longest time, and they were showing all sorts of great Miranda films I didn't think they'd show on any TV station in america (Tom and Viv was one of them at a time too, so I actually missed it several times ) and now we have it and all they keep showing is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, which I rented from Blockbuster months ago I got to see Mirror Mask though, which was pretty good.
