I watched this over the weekend. A friend of my mum lent me the DVD. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the English subtitles to work and my knowledge of the French language is limited at best, so most of the film was just guesswork. I was disappointed that Miranda's part was so small, as the only reason I wanted to see it was that she was in it.

I really have to see it. Of course the main reason for that is Miranda, but the film's plot and story looks quite interesting too!

ARCHIVE: PARIS I LOVE YOU REVIEW AN INDIAN MAGAZINE YESTERDAY PUBLISHED THIS REVIEW OF THE FILM,IT SEEMS MIRANDA IS ACQUIRINING MORE FANS INTERESTED IN HER WORK THANKS TO "PROVOKED" IWAS SURPRISED BY FINDING THIS ARTICLE. BECAUSE FOR US PARIS I LOVE YOU IS A 2006 FILM. BRAVO MIRANDA!! ... Wood was seconded by" actress Miranda Richardson, who is basically mute in her role". "Eclectic is one of the things that springs to mind," she said. "I was thrilled. And I do believe with short stories you can tell better, sometimes, than lengthy (ones). Those were the two factors for me."explain Miranda. As for French actress Ludivine Sagnier, she recalled: "When I was contacted to act in this film, and when Alfonso Cuaron asked to direct me, I thought that was fantastic. I love the ambition of the project... "As a Parisian, I wanted there to be an outsider's view of the capital, and not the picture-postcard Paris complete with Parisian, beret and baguette. I wanted something deep and authentic." The ensemble work and enthusiasm seemed to have paid off. Presented at Cannes 2006 as the opening film for Un Certain Regard, Paris, Je T'aime garnered warm reception from the audience. And though critics are split on the film, reviews have generally been favorable. Amusing, entertaining and charming are typically used to describe the movie. Yet for the filmmakers themselves, director Cuaron thought there was more to this project that actually began with the love of the cinematic concept. "I think there's something meta-textual about this whole thing, that is, Paris is a city of cinema," Cuaron said. "I think most of the filmmakers decided to be part of this because in a way, we have these old great cinematic references about Paris. And as inspiring as love in these shorts, is the idea of cinema." It seems the love of film, of Paris and of love stories brought the filmmakers, stars and crews from different nations to meet in the city of light to create what will be remembered as an innovative achievement in cinema's history

^ ^ Ahhh I've only just read this, that's really cool.
Just saw 'Paris Je T'aime' at the cinema (FINALLY!) and I really rather liked it.
Miranda's section was one of my favourites. It is amazing how she said nothing (excepting 'bonjour') yet still made a whole character. I found her character rather endearing actually. I thought it was one of the best-made sections too. Some of them would have stood alone as short films, whereas others were odd and felt rushed, or ended too soon. This was a perfectly formed little segment.
Other favourites were the two 'soul-mate' boys with the language barrier, the cleaner man with the song (Oh I cried), Juliette Binoche's section, Ludivine Sagnier's section, Rufus Sewell's section, Maggie Gylenhaall's section and Natalie Portman's section. Ooh and the vampire bit! Fabulous. Fanny Ardant was splendid too.
Didn't like the strange haidressing salon or the mime one.
Definitely be getting this on dvd to watch again...found some of it fascinating...other bits I will be skipping straight past.

yes, the way that there were over 20 directors and the stories were for 5', (some relly funny, others lovely, and boring), yes, good indeed ;D
