I watched the end today. It was such a good movie. I felt quite sorry for Ruth Ellis in the end, even though she was a murderess. Miranda's great at making an audience sympathise with quite unlikeable characters. I still can hardly believe that it was her first film. I'm going to watch it again soon, as I usually miss stuff on a first viewing.

I've still never seen it. I think I've said before, but I'm worried that she won't seem like the same Miranda (because of how long ago it was).

And Kathleen,I understand you, seeing as I felt the same thing before, but it actually is the same Miranda. You'll see if you watch it.

Do you think that the movie gave Ruth a bigger following and a stronger campaign to be pardoned? I think in a way it did, I think it got people interested in her case thirty years after her death.
Also, I heard that a petition started last July to get Prime Minister Gordon Brown to reconsider her case and pardon her. I hope it goes through.

She does look the same now, only a tad older, which is understandable But the diffrerence isn't really that big. Hm.Yeah,I do agree with you mandafied. After watching this,I don't understand why they hanged her at all.It doesn't make any sense to me.

She did,but I still don't think she should have been executed. I guess things were different in the 50's.

Indeed. Ruth wasn't really a bad person, she was only upset about David letting her down despite everything she had done for him.Now killing him may not have been the best way to solve it all,but it was her way of dealing with things too hard for her to handle. I guess her brain just went upside down, and that is understandable for me at least.
