‘That person again’ said Incapability. But I think it’s good and makes me see my mistakes once more, though. I know I’ve made lots of them. Such as: double posting, posts with 2 or 3 words. (Sometimes, I only posted a funny icon, I admit.) Also, my off-topics. ( sorry, really) Although, I often forget to stay on topic, and I start with not-interesting post (I know) But I’m WORKING on these points. I’m TRYING to do the best. About type all letters… I think once, I started to use ‘u’, not the whole word ‘you’ (this is just an example what I remember I used, maybe there’re more). And yes, it’s a horrible habit. It LOOKS ugly. But it’s one of the few abbreviations that I know. Because English is not my language and many people on this forum are not Americans or English (or any country with English tongue) so it’s too/more difficult to read for me/us, too. Besides, I don’t know the meaning of some ones.. And capital letters.. I know it looks nice, very nice with them. But I don’t usually use them. (Maybe I’m a lazy girl who don’t want to spend more time and makes her post more beautiful . I’ll work on that, in fact. Hope I will do things better. Hope ALL OF WE will do things better. So, we must start with changing our own habits, I mean, I can’t say ‘hey you, don’t post personal messages!’ if I do it by myself, too. I’ll be working on myself at first. Then, if I could change the wrong habits and I notice somebody is doing something wrong, I’ll tell him/her about that, kindly . And PLEASE guys, if I’m doing something wrong/bad right now, tell me and make me notice that. Thank you. Eva.

I agree with all of these points (and I very much appreciate it when people who have been contacted about issues make the effort to correct the things they're doing wrong).
Punctuation and full words are your friend (a collective 'your', nor directed at anyone in particular). As it says in the rules, overusing abbreviations is disrespectful to the people on the board who don't speak English as a first language, and it also butchers the language we all hold dear.
Also, you guys, never be afraid of being 'that person'. If something annoys you, please, PLEASE bring it to my attention, or post about it (without personally attacking each other, obviously - I'll trust you all to know the difference between expressing an opinion and attacking each other). I have been hanging around on message boards, mailing lists and LiveJournal for years, and there are different rules of etiquette in each place. I am, at heart, a LiveJournaler, and LJ is a place that considers itself very 'literate' and takes itself a bit too seriously sometimes. When I come here and mod, I try to take off my 'LJer' hat and try to relax a bit, because I don't want to impose the 'standards' that I take away from LJ on this board if its members want it to be something different. I often ignore things that irk me personally because I think 'well, no one else seems to have a problem with it, so maybe I'm just being an elitist bitch'. So yes - if you see something here that irritates the hell out of you, and it keeps happening (ie I've done nothing about it), comment, or PM and let me know. I want this place to be enjoyable for everyone.

These things also bother me a little. The main issues for me are the "chat" posts. I know this is a place to have fun and chat, but every thread doesn't need posts mentioning how much we love Miranda over and over again.
About grammar...I speak English, so the problem for me is not that I can't understand the words. When people only know each other through typed words, those words make an impression on others. When I see that someone uses bad grammar I think that they're either about 10 years old, dyslexic, or unintelligent. So, I really don't mind if someone does it, but if they're not one of those three things they may want to stop doing it.

After reading some of the posts on this thread – I have to own up that I am one of those people who, at times, can “butcher the English language”. But just to let you know, I only do it in the world of the internet . I often forget that people who speak other languages might struggle to understand, probably because all over the internet I find so many people are shortening words etc. So to the point, I apologize and will do my best to make the effort in future. Now whilst were on this topic of “new rules”, I just need to vent a bit, I hope no one takes offence. But a lot of posts these days seem rather babyish and “fangirly” (but not the good type, the rather irritating). Yes I love Miranda, I know you do to, but as Kathleen mentioned please don’t keep saying it again and again. I am sure I have said things about how much I like her but in comparison to some people of late, it’s minimal. I look forward to more intelligent discussion and some debating. I’m willing to change the way I approach the message board (as I said above) and hope others can do the same. I am so glad I have actually said all that, because not so long ago I debated leaving the board because it has been frustrating me so much. Maybe because I am turning 20 soon I have some sort of grump fest going on. Who knows lol!

Great post, Electrostrike, I also thought all of that many times, but unfortunately I couldn't find a way to say all of that without looking rude (my english still lacks in some points). Yeah, long life to Miranda, we all love her deeply, but it's almost annoying to keep reading it over and over again... no offense to anyone. And by the way, I will turn 20 too this year, in August. ;D

What's this business of turning 20 ? I am about to turn 60. Miranda has just turn 50. There is no big deal in being 20, in fact becoming 21 is more important due to the legal drinking age and 21 used to be the voting age. Those of you who are now 20 have not really lived yet. You will realise this as you move on in life.

Oh, the 20's thing, at least in my case, is just a curiosity. And I don't need to be 21 to drink whatever I want, because in my country you just need to be 18. And I'm not that drinker, really. Sorry for this slightly off-post comment.
