These are probably the only pictures of myself I like.... That's Caramello [Not mine, a school horse.] and I at a horse show last summer. My mother's the woman in the foreground. My friend took that in Boston a few weeks ago. It's been photoshopped quite a bit, though. [Except not really, 'cause the only photo editing program I have is LivePix, which gets on my nerves, but there you go...] As for Cerberus...I would have her go die in a well with my history teacher and the people at Manic Panic hair dye...

I probably do look suspicious in the last picture. We were a Plymouth Plantation, which is like the original colony recreated...merr, that's confusing. But we were walking and my friends saw a tiny dirt path going up a hill and said, "Oh, it's a trail, let's go up there!" And then it wasn't a trail...
Another rider? Yay! Do you ride English?

Yep. I am german, after all, at least considering this. Yay for german horseriders and horses *bows down before hannovrian horses* I do dressage, and occasionally my uncle forces me to do a few jumps to keep my horse "flexy" and eager.

Thanks himiko. ;D
I do English pleasure and hunter jumper classes in shows. I love dressage but there's no one in my area to teach it. Lucky you.

well, here you would be hard pushed to find an area where no-one teaches dressage riding. or jumping, for that matter. loads of germans ride, loads and loads and loads, and among those loads there a quite a few decent ones (not me, though!). but everyone should at least have a basic dressage training, if you ask me.

I do flat work and equitation along with jumping, but nothing more advanced than counter-cantering and such. Jumping is much more stressed.

just to get this straight, counter-cantering is when you're riding right hand but the horse is going left hand canter, right? in that case, I'm still having trouble to "collect" (dunno if that's what you call it, it's the literal translation) my horse. but his lenghtened strides in trot are quite ok.

Counter-cantering is asking the horse to canter on the wrong lead, leading with the outside leg rather than the inside. I know what you're talking about with collecting. It can be a bit difficult with the schoolies (since I don't have my own horse, I ride the "schoolies," all of which have food names.) because the horrible little kids ride them and teach them bad habits.

I think we're talking about the same with counter-cantering,I just couldn't express it the way you did. So it's really collecting in English? Cool! *is impressed* I'm making some progress, my horse has a horrible tact in canter, but I'm working on it, today I actually noticed some improvement Yay!

Agh, I envy you. Schoolies are so difficult. But I've learned how to get them to do flying lead changes, so I'm happy.
