*cannot remember if there is another thread for Blackadder discussions*
Does anyone have any favourite lines from Blackadder? Much as I love Miranda's lines, I have to say that my favourite Blackadder quote is from the aforementioned "Beer" episode
Lady Whiteadder: You have chairs in your house?! Wicked boy! *slaps Blackadder around the face* Chairs are decadent, and a creation of Satan! (*something like that, anyway*) In our house, Nathaniel sits on a spike! BA: And you, Aunt? LW: I sit on Nathaniel. Two spikes would be an extravagance! Never mind, we shall endure comfort this once. We will just have to stick forks in our legs between courses!
It's funnier when you see it done- Miriam Margolyes is very OTT and very funny as Lady Whiteadder.
I also like the Christmas special.
BA: Rememeber, Mr Baldrick, that inside every fat git, there lives... B: A thin git?
Mrs Scratchit: *crying* No turkey for poor Tiny Tom on Christmas Day. BA: *kindly* Mrs Scratchit, Tiny Tom wieghs several hundred pounds, and is the size of a brick privy...
B: Whatever happened to the milk of human kindness? BA: It's gone off, Baldrick. It stinks.
(not sure if I got all the quotes right, it's been a while since I saw any of these episodes)
If you can stay calm when all around you is in chaos, then you probably haven't completely understood the situation
Teamwork means never having to take all the blame yourself
The Light at the End of the Tunnel is the headlamp of an oncoming train
I've recently been watching blackadder like crazy on youtube. I love the chains episode, and the beer one. I don't really like the first season, I like the second and and the goes forth one. "Lord Percy, it's up to you, either you can shut up, or you can have your head cut off" lol.
My favourite is: "Who's Queen?"! Simple but brilliant! And did anybody notice in the "Head" episode when Miranda says farewell to Blackadder and walks to the door and when she arrives there, she gets her foot up? I love that part, it's so sweet!
