well I think she said she didn't find working with him a very happy experience or something. And on graham norton she joked 'well I suppose working with Jeremy you do cry alot' she laughed. But I don't think she got on with him all too great.

Here's some info I got from a few articles/interviews. 'Three Times a Lady' by Juliann Garey January 29, 1993 - Entertainment Weekly Richardson admits that the Damage shoot often left her frustrated. She did not always work well with her costar Irons, who used Josephine Hart's novel as a handbook, while shefound the book "quite fast-food." Interview by William Leith - Sunday April 4th 1999 When I asked her what it was like to work with Jeremy Irons, she said: 'Pass.' Why is she not happy? The reason she gave is that she has 'general shit detectors out all the time, really. Too much, probably.' RICHARDSON PUTS THE 'BITE' INTO "SPIDER" ROLE Thu Dec 19,12:12 PM ET 2002 By Sue Zeidler And reports of tensions with stars like Jeremy Irons on "Damage," for which she got an Oscar nomination, were overblown, she said. "That wasn't a completely easy shoot," she admits, but noted the friction mainly arose out of Irons' desire to collaborate more and her own preference to prepare alone. Hope that helps, Mandy

I didn't like his character, but I would never be in the place to say I didn't like him. As for his acting, nothing stood out for me personally, good or bad....interesting to see what Miranda had to say about him though. Seems like to me they just clashed. Some people just don't work well together.
Anyone know if he's ever said anything about her?

Again, from someone in the buis (not me) and on the somewhat reliable IMDB, when Damage (which we all know Miranda was in and agree she should have won the Academy Award that year) the actress that played Anna (his son's fiancee that he's having an affair with) walked off set when he became too physical during the love scenes.
So it's not just her. The person that's in the buis also said: "Jeremy Irons is one of the most arrogrant bloody bastards ever to see the silver sceen. How any director would hire him is beyond me."

Wow that's something else. They didn't say anything about all that in the behind the scene footage and interviews on the dvd, but I suppose they wouldn't be able to. I would think Miranda wouldn't say bad things about someone unless she really was unenthused about them.

Well, when he was working with her on DAMAGE, he felt he was SUCH AN EXPERT since he ""read the book"", that he felt the need to "coach" all the other actors on how to properly "play" their part. Uhhh, Miranda can play her part and play YOU right under the table, fucker I hate that man, I swear

Jeremy Irons may be an example of an actor / entertainer / artist who is excellent at what he does but is not much liked by those who work with him. We have that in life, I think, and it often makes no sense to us, but is what much of life is about. In Amadeus, the play/movie by Peter Shaffer, we see Mozart as a musical gennieous but as an "asshole" in real life. We don't have to like the artist to like his / her work.

I like the way Miranda is bluntly honest when people ask her questions about the people she works with, despite not wanting to talk about other things in interviews. She said similar things about working on 'The Hours' with Nicole Kidman, that it just wasn't very pleasant and she didn't enjoy it. It's funny, because we all know what she means - we've all worked with people that we were indifferent to, or wanted to kick in the head, or alternately liked and wanted to bitchslap (I have that sort of feeling for my manager). It just shows, in some ways, that being an actor is just like any other job.
