New song name! "Ciaran's Well", which she's now finished recording at the studio in Los Angeles (called "The Village").
Also, about the cover, she's posted some clues:
Interesting discovery was to learn that the album where the cover is taken from, was also recorded at The Village! As I told you before, the original song has lots of backing vocals. I can say without a doubt that the song is a “classic”. I decided to cover it after listening to it hundreds of times in the Finnish radio. I never performed the song before MWS sessions. It is not a ballad…
Anyone here got any ideas?

I have no clue at all. If it's such a classic, I guess it must be pretty obvious. Although obvious to Tarja isn't necessarily obvious to us. ^^ I really like the new title!

More exciting news: There's a rumour on the NW forum that the Finnish TV station (or possibly radio station, I'm not sure) will be showing "I Walk Alone", at the wonderful date of tomorrow (4th September) at the utterly hideous time of 8:20 (Finnish time, which I believe is GMT+2). Apparently it's up on this station's website, meaning it;s a fairly reliable resource, so if any helpful Finnish people record it and put it up on the web, we may be able to hear Tarja- related goodies sooner than expected.
NB: I don't know whether this rumour is indeed true, apparantly the station is fairly reliable, but it may yet turn out untrue.

What do people think? The backing instruments aren't as heavy as I might have hoped for, and it's somewhat more pop-ish than NW, but I guess we didn't really expect it to stick to the same style. Other than that, I like it a lot. Tune is catchy, lyrics are pretty, and it's Tarja, so obviously the vocals are lovely.

I like it, especially when she uses her voice more. I want to hear the operatic stuff ;D. I'm glad that it seems this album will be better than the other solo music she made. The previous music was pretty boring to me lol. Did she write the lyrics?

Yes, the other music scared me a little, too. Apparently she co-wrote some of the lyrics on MWS (for the song Oasis, I believe - not sure if there are any others). If you were asking about her earlier work, I have no idea, but I think not, as they made a thing about it being her first time at composing (or co-composing, at least) in her blog.

She actually co-composed a song from her Christmas album- the opening song, "Kuin Henkays Ikuisuutta". I believe "Oasis" is the first song for which she's composed any lyrics, though. I heard that she cowrote several of the other songs on her album, but I'm not sure if this is true, of which songs they are.

A "sick" song released in 1989.... wtf? *scratches head*

A few people on the Tarja Turunen forum have suggested Alice Cooper's "Poison", but someone else said that Poison wasn't recorded at the village, though Alice Cooper has recorded there.
Right, so it's not pop, it's not a ballad, it's a "sick" song, it was recorded at the Village in 1989, and it's a classic, and thus well known. And has a lot of backing vocals.
... No idea... I tried looking at the list of artists who've recorded in the Village, and thought that by the time I'd finished trawling through that list, the album would probably have been released already...

*weeps* Awh, I would have liked it to be 'Poison'. ^^
LOL, yes, I've already resigned myself to ignorance and the fact that I'm just going to have to wait and see. ^^

Cool video! The audio is better than the radio quality that we previously had too. The little girl's hair looks fake lol. She was creepy as the Dead Boy.

*sigh* I have no words to describe how much I enjoyed it. So I'll just go watch it again and drool messily. Also! The cover song IS "Poison" by Alice Cooper! *insanely happy* It's such a cool and amazing song, I'm really looking forwards to hearing her version. She's releasing two of her songs for download on her website sometime soon: "Ciarán’s Well" and "The Reign". And also some dates for the tour.
