Great pictures, Tosca! I particularly like the backstage one, I think it's the one you're using in your siggy over at the Tarja forum- you always get awesome pictures from these things!

Also ruffling her hair while she's hitting the high note - LOL This moment?Yeah, it struck me how very helpful of him that was too. Bless. He does a lot of fooling around in the background on stage - he's great. Great pictures, Tosca! Neither of us knew that one was being taken, which is probably why I'm in the middle of saying something (quite weird, judging by Tarja's "WTF" face )

Hahaha yes, that moment. It's a very brother-sisterly gesture. Lucky she's such a professional and didn't lose the note - though of course he probably knew she was when he did it.

Also I wonder what kind of corset that is. Specially made, I'd imagine. I have a Victorian front and back lacing corset, and when it's on there's absolutely no freakin way I'd be able to get enough air in to sing like that (even if I didn't sound like a dying cat). It mustn't be too tight, or something.

Hm, no idea. Looks more like a bodice to me - the laces are there to do it up, not to draw it in, and the material seems to be pretty firm. *shrug* But then, are bodices any easier to sing in than corsets?

Heh, no idea. But after I posted it i watched a few more clips, and she certainly doesn't bend in it. she does the whole hip bend thing, like she can't at the waist. and usually one can bend in a bodice.
By the same token, though, I suppose women have been singing opera in corsets forever, so maybe it was a stupid thing to wonder about.

Excuse the double post here. The first song title has been released for the next album! It is...*dramatic music*...'The Crying Moon'. In interviews, Tarja has said that this new album may be slightly heavier than the first one, but will still keep the feel of MWS. atm she's in Antigua composing new songs. Yaye to that.

Interesting title. I hope the album doesn't take too long to make. We'll probably have to wait years for the next Nightwish album, so I hope it isn't years for this one.

There is some pretty heavy sounding guitar in MWS. For example, Die Alive's verses. It seems to be somewhat buried in the mix though.

I guess it's a good sign that she's begun to work on her new album before she's even finished touring. I think in an interview somewhere she said she'd like to have it released next year, but I don't know how realistic she was being there. Optimism is good, though.

*drumroll* A song for the new album has been composed. The new song is called "Enough". Aaaaand, Tarja is performing it on her South American tour, which started yesterday. So - here it is! fr.youtube.com/watch?v=-YOUgeEfZOE

So far, I quite like it, though the video quality makes it hard to really really tell.
OT note of blondness: at first I was like "Argh, I can't hear anything" *turns laptop louder and louder* *notices headphones still plugged in* *smacks self*

I think it's likely that she will have a new album out quickly. By going solo, she's kind of a 'new artist' - outside Finland, anyway, and for a new artist to be successful they have to keep things coming. She wouldn't have the luxury that Nightwish do, as a recognised name internationally, to take ages to get the new album out.
