Are any of you lot going to be watching Eurovision tomorrow?
I'm watching the semi-finals now, and Iceland are the only country that have impressed me

Well, seeing as Eurovision is on Saturday, not tomorrow, then I can safely say I won't be watching it tomorrow But yes, I probably will watch it on Saturday, just for the joy of seeing it being hosted in a country that knows it's music.

I might watch the end to see who wins. Britain's entry is terrible. It's so camp and cheesy. I guess it's perfect for Eurovision then!

I aint like it at all, this year EUROVISION was pathetic. just my point of view.
well what the hell !italia never participates ,we got other festivals. but spain was like awful .I expected more from them.
I prefered the LORDI YEAR,BUNCH OF FREAKS!!but better. that song Leila performed by hara mata hari was absolutely beautiful. guess it was from serbia...dont remember...that year was cool.

I agree with you, Avalon. I thought that the winning entry this year was just bland, and there were no real stand out entries.
Well, I did quite like Russia.
*looks shifty*

Minkaro, no perving at the Russian girls!
Yeah, this year's Eurovision was fairly bland. I was hoping that after Lordi won last year, there might be some more hard-rock/metal entries this year. Sadly, I was wrong. The winning song wasn't bad, but it was fairly bland and formulaic. The Slovenian singer had a gorgeous voice, but if an opera singer had won Eurovision, I think I'd have been even more surprised than I was when Lordi won. Finland wasn't bad either, but there was no entry that stood out like Lordi. Every song was either around standard Eurovision fare, a total piss take (Ukraine, anyone?) or had a bad singer (*winces at memory of Ireland*).
Apocalyptica weren't bad, though, might check out some of their songs, and I quite liked the intro video (a troll like man running across the snow, the occasional wolf, some fire, and "Hard Rock Hallelujah" in the background), but when the highlight of the evening is the Intro-video, you know it's been a boring year.

Your sloganizer said something like "be young, have fun, taste Mab" lol. About Lordi, I don't like them. I'm not into the costume stuff. Sleepwalker should have won that year Nightwish did it, 2000 I think? I don't think I listened to what did win. Apocalyptica is awesome, I listen to them sometimes. Although when watching a live performance one time I thought Eicca was a girl lol.

Apocalyptica is awsome. Anyone ever heard them play "Nothing else matters"? It's beautiful, and very very emotional. "Somewhere around Nothing" is very cool also.
Didn't watch. But seems like I didn't miss all that much.

Yeah, the bastardising Finnish judges didn't send Nightwish through to the Eurovision finals, despite the fact that they did really well in the public telelvoting. Ah, well. I have to admit, I have a soft spot for Lordi. Not going to win any awards for writing breathtaking music, but you can't say that they didn't put on a good show.
