I will appreciate to have your opinion about THE OSCAR s nominees.
+do you think Helen Mirren deserves the Oscar AS BEST ACTRESS.
+IS IT A GOOD CHANCE FOR MERYL STREEP to win.
+ Does PENELOPE CRUZ deserves to be on the list for her performance in VOLVER.
+IS the Queen the best film of the year.
+what do you think about CATE BLANCHETT & her performance in notes of a scandal.DID she deserves to win the oscar as a supporting actress.

I think Martin Scorsese needs to win as he's earned it over the years, and the Departed was good. I think Leo has gotten better every year and he deserves it, but they'll probably give it to Whitaker and also Eddy Murphy and Jennifer Hudson(yuck). I'm sure Mirren will win, but I think eventually Kate Winslet deserves to win, but I guess there are other years. Cate Blanchett is one of my favorite actresses, but she has one, so I guess another year. Best picture, I don't know, I haven't seen Babel. I liked the Departed, but I think if they give the director to Scorsese they'll probably give the picture to Babel.

Peter O'Toole possibly should get it because he's so old and may never get another chance, and he's never gotten one. Cate always seems to be perfectly dressed, she can't look bad.

I think Helen does deserve the award for The Queen. I thought she was excellent. In other years, Meryl may have had a chance of winning, but it's Helen's year I think. I enjoyed The Queen. I didn't think I would but I did. I don't know whether it's the best film of the year, I haven't seen all the others.

I hope Meryl wins, but I know that Helen will win. The Queen isn't the best film, because Perfume is but that is not even nominated, sooooo then I hope The Queen will win that cathegory, and Penelope ROCKS in her film. She deserves her nomination! I hope Cate Blanchett loooooooooooooose No I don't.. I think she'll win

Right then, so it went about 40 something minutes over schedule, as usual lol. Mirren won, Whitaker won (no O'Toole ), Jennifer Hudson won ( ), and Alan Arkin ;D. He beat Eddie Murphy yayayayay! Song went to Etheridge and not one of the 3 nominated Dreamgirls songs lol. Let's see here, Pans Labyrinth won a bunch of art and makeup stuff. Director was Scorsese, yay, and Picture was The Departed. Um, Foreign Film was the German one, I believe. The dumb al gore movie won. I can't think right now of others, I think Babel only had one. Now let's talk fashion, Meryl, unfortunately looked awful as usual lol. She's not known for fashion. Cate Blanchett and Kate Winslet looked nice. Jennifer Hudson had this terrible, tacky coat thingy during the red carpet, she took it off during the show. Dench wasn't there, O'Toole wore a funny looking suit. Jennifer Lopez had a pretty dress, Dunst...not such a pretty dress. I have a question for the non americans...is it shown at the same time in other countries, is it not live? How does it work, I've always wondered.

It's shown live all right, if you wish to stay up from 2 am to 5 am, that is. otherwise, they usually repeat it at some point, and of course they show the really interesting moments in the news and the "pseudo-news". And you're right, it's Meryl, it doesn't matter what she's wearing. *pouts*

Helen Mirren looked amazing, far better than a lot of the younger stars! If I look even half as good as that when I get to her age, I'd be a very happy girl!

Yeah, every year the Academy Awards Ceremony is shown live, from about midnight until three or four in the morning and it is live and without subtitles. In the next weekend it is shown at afternoon and with subtitles.
