The album I have IS much heavier on the death metal vocals than the other two kinds, I must say, although it is still very good. I believe their 3rd album "World of Glass" has more female vocals.

I finally got round to checking a few of their songs out on youtube. not bad at all. the female voice is quite good, although she obvioulsy can't rival Tarja Turunen ...

Naturally. I do not believe such a thing is possible.

could it be that they have ever done a song with Nightwish? Or a song called Nightwish?
cos I searched bearshare for Nightwish, and this Nightwish/Tristania song came up. it's amazing, reminds me of gregorian choirs, very powerful.

I've just looked on Wikipedia at their discography
They do not have a song called Nightwish, nor are Nightwish credited as appearing on any album.

hmm, strange. stupid bearshare. but as the song is good anyway, no harm done (to me).

I've seen that song on Limewire, but I've never downloaded it because it doesn't appear to be on any of the nightwish cds.

Gregorian choirs sound like Tristania to me. Well, I know Tristania haven't been on any Nightwish album, nor, to my knowledge, have NW appeared on a Tristania album. Neither have ever done a song by the name of the other band. The guy who founded Tristania has now left and made a very similar band, Sirenia, and they seem somewhat NW-lacking, also. *weepses*
Ah, well. We can dream. Incapa, I don't suppose you can post up some of the lyrics on here and I'll see if it's one of the Tristania songs I have?

Sounds like the music out of "The Omen" to me. Could be a Tristania song, def. not NW, but I have my suspicions that it be neither.

Yeah, it is very annoying indeed... By the way, I was just wondering if you, Nightwish's fans like me also enjoy opera? I'm justing asking it because their music is metal, but they have some opera influences and because I like opera very much! To be true, I like almost all kinds of music except the totally commercial pop and I love mixs of music types, like Nightwish.

I for some reason don't like Andrea Bocelli's music...I'm not saying he's bad...I just don't really like it. I like Sarah Brightman of course, and I love Il Divo. My brother is obsessed with Maria Callas. I tend to like loud music, but not in the sense that's it's a bunch of people screaming or something...just dramatic...and intense. I also like it with a lot of instruments. Dvorak's New World Symphony, for instance is awesome. I also enjoy, you know, pop stuff and soft rock-ish stuff. Rap is just awful for me and I despise the punk stuff. Just not my scene.

Rap. Don't even get me started on that HEAP OF SHITE THAT TRIES TO PASS ITSELF OFF AS MUSIC! Also, I can't stand Hip-hop, dance and 99% of pop. As for the rest, I listen mostly to metal, I listen to some rock (sometimes the borders between metal and hard rock can be rather blurry), I quite like celtic music and similar folk- music to that on the odd occassion, but mostly metal. As for opera... Sad to say, I don't really listen to a lot. I'll listen to it when it's on, and I like bands with operatic singers. I listen to a lot of opera at my grandparent's house, because they're big fans, and some classical music (and filmscore stuff, too) but it's not generally the kind of stuff I go out and buy.
