Ok so I thought we ought to have a thread where we can discuss our favourite musicians/bands etc, and maybe recommend Albums and live acts to everyone else. Perhaps we should start by saying who we've enjoyed seeing in concert (or indeed simply who we've seen) or thought were crap.
For me, I have been lucky so far and have not paid to go and see someone I didn't like.
My top gigs would have to be:
The Corrs - Tokyo (September 2001) K's Choice - Paris (February 2002) Vanessa Carlton - London (February 2003) Skin - London (July 2003) Kosheen - London (April 2002) Stereophonics - Reading Festival (August 2000)

Oooh good idea Beani (as ever!!).. Firstly i'd like to say that i'm very jealous you've seen The Corrs live, i want to so badly... when did you see them? Me and Fran saw Darren Hayes live and he was mindblowing, he has such passion and belief in what he's singing. I really believe that he performs and songwrites because if he doesn't he'll explode and that truly comes across. He's so very sexy too, he makes these rather sexual noises that get me quite excited We're seeing Will Young next month and i imagine that will be amazing, another one will real passion, will report back! I can think of more, but will let fran do some because we go to them all together!! xxx

Ok well my favourite Corrs gig was the one in Tokyo I mentioned earlier. I have also seen them:
- 2 Party In the Park events in Hyde Park - July 1999 and 2000. - Capital Christmas Live - December 2002 - Concert for Peace - May 2000 - Wembley Arena - December 2000 - Royal Albert Hall - October 2001
And I am going to see them in June at the Hammersmith Apollo. So looking forward to it.

Ohhhhh, wanna see The Corrs too..... Darren Hayes, yeah, was just the best concert i've ever been to......was so exhilarating..... Darius was fantastic too...i hardly remember it though, bit of a blur...he's good at those sexual noises too!! Both of those are just the best live-you can just lose yourself in their belief and passion. And when we were younger we saw Westlife and Boyzone, which were terribly exciting at the time! ;D Would love to see Britney live, and Vanessa.... Looking forward to Will too!! eeeeee! xxxxxx

Well I believe it was originally supposed to be a full tour. However the London gig is the only English venue gig announced so far. There are a few Irish concerts, and then they seem to be going to the US and Canada. Now I had imagined (and other fans had too) that a full scale European tour would take place at the end of the year, probably stretching well into 2005. However, Caroline is pregnant again, and the baby is due in October, so it is unlikely she will tour soon after giving birth, and I can't imagine they will tour without her, so I would say maybe the end of next year for a UK tour. Actually the UK bit is probably the easiest part as it doesn't mean a heck of a load of flying, and she could probably get home after each gig. I believe the London gig I am attending is sold out, and I am glad I bought a ticket (I nearly didn't at 40 quid each ) as it may be a while before they are on a UK stage again.

Sorry double posting but I just want to talk about Vanessa Carlton.
She was sooo amazing, her drummer was also outstanding, but she was a great show person and really interacted with the crowd. I saw her at the Shepherd's Bush Empire, which holds maybe 2500 people maximum. A great little intimate setting. I believe she is finishing off her second album, and it will be released sometime over the summer, after which she shall probably tour it. Her profile isn't currently too high in the UK (surprising considering how well A Thousand Miles did) so I would assume she'll again stick to slightly smaller venues. I would definitely pay to see her again.

:)I have not, as of yet. I should like very much to hear it. I have the original score to the movie Ever After, starring Drew Barrymore, Anjelica Huston, and Dougray Scott(a welshman). George Fenton composed the original score to that movie. It is very soothing. I love classical music too. Handel's Royal Fireworks suite and his Watermusic suite are two of my favourite classical pieces. ;D I didn't realize there was anyone else out there my age who appreciated that type of music. Well, you don't live in America, either. I don't know anyone else here who does.

As for Savage Garden, yes, they are great! I have both their CD's, and I love the animal song, lol! I believe it was in the movie The Other Sister, but since I never saw that movie, I cannot say for certain. They are Aussies, right?
